My wife is sponsoring me for PR as her spouse. I have 3 non-accompanying dependent children from a previous marriage. We just found out yesterday that she (my wife) is being laid off at the end of the month. Will this ruin our chances for a successful sponsorship?

Correct us if we are mistaken but we assume that we are exempt from the financial requirement/LICO. Regardless, things like this create worry.

Thank you for any and all advice/help.

I think it depends on the discretion of whoever is looking at your application.
Perhaps, attach a letter explaining the situation and how you intend to support yourselves while she finds a new job.
I am sponsoring my husband soon, and although I have a job at the moment, it is set to end while I go back to school for 4 months in September, so I attached a letter from my parents saying they will support us until I return to work in January.

No, it won't ruin your chances as long as she doesn't have to collect social assistance (welfare). You are correct in that these sponsorships are exempt from LICO. However, you have to watch out for A39, but as long as you are both employable, willing and able to work, it should not be a concern.
