I am an interational phd student in the UK and is billed for a conference in canada. Though I have previously applied for PR in the 2008 slot but asked for refund, with a conference application visa been rejected once in the UK, I did not know that it really takes much effort to apply for a TRV. To be frank I have not been making good applications with the knowledge I have now. I have a good travel history and do not have much problem with obtaining visas, to every other country except canada, though partly my fault, I just feel I am sincere and donot produce much documents and explanation, assuming that I will be given the visa. To be frank the reasons they have been given to me for past refusal is not just the reality but I have seen that they need evidence without sentiments. I need to address the concerns they have raised in the past, which is insufficient funds and ties to country. How much do someone need while going for a conference of 10days?
My dilemna is that I am attending a conference that I have been attending over 6years constantly with this years conference taking place in toronto canada. The paper I submitted for the conference will determine my phd outcome. I am telling myself I wish it's not canada. I really need some advice cos the conference airfare and accomodation is already paid by the university, :-[. So I have to apply!
