Usually scolarship is reported in T4A form for taxes, and this is considered income, not welfare. But I'd double check with an issuer of your apprenticeship.

tnxs AudreyU...the program is calles ALIS- Alberta Learner's Income Support...My husband is working now & he is going for apprenticeship for 1 month and he applied for this. i am just really confused & bothered now if it is a form of social welfare and well affect our spousal sponsorship application.
