Hey Friends

There are any rule that as a PR I cant live outside Canada more than 2 years ?

What will happen if I live more than 2 years outside Canada?

Please Guide me.

You must live in Canada 2 out of every five rolling years to maintain PR status. If you don't meet this residency requirement then you risk having your PR status revoked.

^ Unless you are living outside Canada with your Canadian spouse...then the 2 year rule doesn't really apply. Citizenship is different; you must be in Canada to qualify...

No. You must live three out of the last four to be eligible for citizenship.

To keep your PR status you must live 2 years out of 5 years period in Canada. (of course exception are: living outside Canada with a Canadian Citizen spouse, working for a Canadian Company etc.) So, if you just wish to retain your PR status, then you can live outside for 3 years (although I don't suggest you do).

If you wish to apply for Canadian Citizenship you must live in Canada for 3 years within a 4 years period.
