hi i just applied for my LMIA from Food service supervisor from A&W Restaurant in Winnipeg Manitoba on 19th November and still i am waiting for that. Can anybody tell me any idea what tume they took more to do. Your reply ll really helpful Thanks Guys
As far as I know YOU cannot apply for a LMIA..A&W has to do this. But honestly I doubt that no one in Canada can be found to be a supervisor there..sorry!

A Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) is a document that an employer in Canada may need to get before hiring a foreign worker.

A positive LMIA will show that there is a need for a foreign worker to fill the job. It will also show that no Canadian worker is available to do the job. A positive LMIA is sometimes called a confirmation letter.

If the employer needs an LMIA, they must apply for one.

Once an employer gets the LMIA, the worker can apply for a work permit.

It is a long process (approx 2-4 months) so normally people apply while out of Canada if they are not currently working in Canada.
