Hi!
what is the minimum no. days of stay in canada after our first landing?
i am asking this because i need to go back to my home country after processing the
necessary docs for new immigrants to settle some important things like:

1. selling/disposing properties (car, house, etc.)
2. to complete the required no. years of employment with my present employer
to claim my separation pay.

thanks.

Indeed there is no minimum stay but keep in mind that if you are not going to stay, you should not apply for a health card or child benefits. Maybe you already knew that but not everybody does and some apply and then may have problems later because they applied for something they were not yet eligible for.

Though there is no min requirement but in order for you to get your PR card either you would have to stay back until you get your card or you must have given the address where your PR card would be sent, as you would not be able to enter back to Canada without your PR card in which case you would have to apply for travel documents from Canadian embassy of your home country.

to all:

thank you so much to all who replied and share their knowledge.
this is a very big help to me in making the right action plan and decisions.

with regards to all the comments and suggestions about pr card, health & child benefits,
i believe, i will not have any issues since my wife is currently working in ottawa, canada as live-in-caregiver and she's the principal applicant and we are her dependents, including our 3 children.
they will stay in canada after our first landing while i go back to our home country (Philippines) to
settle some things.
once my wife received our pr cards, she will just send my pr card to the philippines via registered mail so that i can enter back to canada seamlessly.
