Hello,

I visited Canada in April 2008 to participate in a contest. In the visa it was written that I have to enter Canada between March 17th and April 10. The type of visa that was issued is "WORKER". I entered Canada through Calgary airport and an officer(not sure whether it was customs or immigration) crossed the visa diagonally with a marker and stamped with a seal that said [Calgary Airport 5th April]. Then I collected my luggage and submitted a paper to a person that said I don't have things like gold, tobacco etc.

I returned home on April 10th after the competition was over.

My question is: during my return, there was no immigration officer who checked my passport. Is this the usual case? And also during entry, no stamp was given as to for how many days I can stay in Canada!!

1. Canada doesn't have exit controls.
2. You were admitted for 6 months if no date was written under the stamp.

Thanks PMM for your reply.

The seal that was stamped was on the visa itself that said "Calgary Airport April 5".
The person that crossed the visa, is he an immigration officer or a customs person?
I think there was a separate immigration officer's room which doesn't fall into the path of the exit. Is it compulsory to visit that room?

No it not compulsory , both Immigration and Customs work for CBSA for entry cases like yours the visa was canceled

and you were admitted, doesn't need specialized Immigration for that.
