Hi Everyone,

I live in Toronto right now and just received my permanent residence visa. I applied using outland office Hong Kong. I was wondering how I'm going to get my visa stamped by an immigration officer now. Should I contact call centre to arrange an appointment? Is that going to take really long time? Should I go to a border or Pearson Airport? If I need to go to border, does anyone know where is the closest border in Toronto?
Thanks.

You can only land at an airport if you are arriving on a flight from an international destination.

The fastest way is to drive to a US/Canada land border and flagpole (exit and the re-enter Canada). Closest borders to Toronto are Fort Erie, Niagara Falls, Queenston/Lewiston.

Alternatively you can make an appointment to land within Canada at a CIC office. However I believe it takes a few months for this appointment to be scheduled.

Hi

Thank you for replying me. That's really helpful. So when I exist, should I explain to the officer there about it?

Search this forum using the word "flagpole" and you'll find lots of detailed instructions.
