Hi Everyone
I have a UAE drivers Lisence which was issued on 22nd February 2018 and Expired on 22nd February 2019 and I am going to Alberta Canada for January 2020 intake for my higher studies. So there I want to get a GDL exemption for Class 5 advanced road test so if I apply for GDL Exemption on 23 February 2020 because at that time I will have driving experience of more than two years which is required for GDL Exemption but my driver’s license would have been expired for more than one year at that time can I get the GDL Exemption or not. So please if anyone tells me that it will work or not.
Thanks in advance.

1. No, as you wouldn't have had a valid driver's license for the 1 year you are attempting to claim.

Thanks a lot for the reply PMM but the thing is that I have also my home country Lisence which was issued on 11 December 2018 and valid for the next five years so now what you say that I can get the exemption or not. My UAE’s Driving Lisence issued on 22 February 2018 and expired on 22 February 2019 and my home country’s Lisence issued on 11 December 2018 and will expire in 2023 so if I apply for GDL Exemption on 23 February 2020 can I exempt the waiting period.
Thanks PMM for reply

Hi
My license is issued on July 13th, 2018 in Singapore.

I am moving to Alberta in April 2020 after getting my PR there. However, my overseas driving experience would still be slightly less than 2 years when i land in April 2020. So, to be eligible for the GDL exemption for more than 2 years, should I just wait till July 13th, 2020 and apply? does it work even though I would have landed 3 months earlier?

Kindly reply. very urgent
