Hi everyone,

Just curious about the category that BOWP fall into within the "Processing Time" page, will it belong to Work Permit(New employer), Work Permit(same employer) or New Temporary Resident Visa(For valid Study or Work Permit holders ONLY)? I am deciding whether I should submit my BOWP application online or in paper.

Thank you in advance!!

Same question about the processing time...

If a work permit expires after the submission of application for BOWP and before receiving BOWP, what happens in that situation?

sealight and azure04 - If you applied for PR under Express Entry, then you should check the box for "initial work permit/new employer" when you complete the application for your BOWP. If your PR is under a PNP program and your nomination restricts you to working for your current employer, then you must submit the application under "work permit with same employer".

mrawa - provided you have submitted your BOWP application and it has been received by IRCC in Vegerville BEFORE your current work permit expires, then you can continue to work under the terms of your expired work permit until you have received a decision on the BOWP. If your current work permit (the one that is about to expire or has expired) names your employer and your occupation/location etc. you can only continue to work for that employer, in that occupation until your BOWP is issued.

Hope this helps! :)

Correct. It's called implied status, a quick search on here (or google) will give a ton more information for mrawa.
