Hello all,
I submitted my app on 10th Feb 2023, biometric was done on 23rd Feb 2023. My eligibility passed on 10 July 2023, after my background started from this time. Now, I've been waiting about 6 months till now no update on my background check. Is there any follow-up method that I should use to speed up the process?
Thanks

Where are you applying from? Have you raised a webform?

Yes, I've submitted several web forms but only received generic responses advising me to be patient. I requested CBSA and CSIS notes and both indicated that my case was under security check.

What is your citizenship? Do you live in that country? Depending on where you live, background checks can take many months.

Hello all,
After about 6 months, the background verification was completed on my tracker account on 11 Jan 2024. I defferd my offer to Sep 2024 and I sent IRCC the new LOA on 6 Feb 2024.
Everything is completed on my file, but I have not received visa approval. Is there any way to follow up on my visa?

What is your citizenship and are you part of a group which Canada has identified as a security risk?

I'm in Iran.
No, I wasn't involved in activities or groups identified as a security risk.
World countries see Iran as a dangerous country so it may be delayed.. Please wait and you will get good result.
Don’t feel bad

Iran has longer than average processing times so the processing time is not unheard of. Is there something that prompted you to check CSIS background check?

Unfortunately, I see some students who have been waiting for the approval of their study permit for a long time in Iran.
I heard that the second stage of security screening after CBSA is the CSIS office, therefore I proceeded to request a CSIS note through ATIP.

Ok very different if you know you are stuck in a CSIS screening versus you potentially anticipating a problem.
