I hope this letter finds you well. My name is Ahmad , a permanent resident currently residing in point clear , QC. I am writing to seek clarification and assistance regarding a pending issue related to my citizenship application.

I was granted protected person status from 20/8/2020 to 28/9/2021, and subsequently, I became a permanent resident from 29/9/2021 onwards. I have recently been attempting to use the online application calculator to determine the eligibility timeline for my citizenship application.

The issue I encountered is that when inputting the information about my travel outside Canada from 27/9/2021 to 27/1/2022, the system did not accept the data. However, when starting from 29/9/2021, the system accepted the information. It's important to note that I left Canada on the evening of 27/9/2021, arriving in Turkey on 28/9/2021. I received the permanent resident confirmation on 29/9/2021.

Given these circumstances, I am seeking guidance on whether the landing date needs to be modified or if I should enter 29/9/2021 as the date in the citizenship application. I want to ensure that I provide accurate and timely information to avoid any complications in the application process.

I left Canada on 27/9/2021 for an urgent leave, and this is the only travel outside Canada during my five years of residency. These conditions also apply to my wife and child, Eline.

Your prompt response and guidance on the necessary steps to address this matter would be greatly appreciated. I want to make sure that my citizenship application is submitted accurately and without any surprises.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Sincerely,
Ahmad

Your dates don't make sense. One of the years you've given above must be wrong. Did you become a PR in 2021 and not 2022?

FYI - this isn't a government web site. No one here works for IRCC. We are all normal people like you.

Read your first post again. The dates do not make sense. You wrote this:

Actually the physical presence calculator does have the capability to calculate physical presence days for applicants who got PR when they were outside Canada.
The tool has not kept up with IRCC giving PR in some cases to applicants when they are outside Canada.
Only way you can manage to submit your application is to break your Turkey vacation in two because of the tool limitation.

FromToDestinationReason# Days
2021-09-272021-09-28TurkeyTurkey0.0
2021-09-302022-01-27TurkeyTurkey118.0

Additionally add letter of explanation mentioning why you divided the trip into two. Have additional buffer for the day the tool( 2021-09-27 - 9/29/2021) is thinking you in Canada but you are not.
