Dear Seniors, Kindly help...

I have send my docs to CIC, which they have received it on July 30 through DHL. I had put in my Credit card details for the payment, but recently my bank strictly asked me to put in a security code additionally for any online transactions. So this is not updated to CIC officers. For the same reason i have send a DD of the same amount to CIC on October end through DHL. My worry is how will they correlate these two files. We havent received any file number too. Do I have to call CIC office? if so the direct number? or email contact?

Kindly send me your suggestions and wish me good luck.
a newbie.
Hi rajeevadoor, CIO does not need the OTP from your bank to be able to debit your credit card. All they need is your authorisation which you gave when you signed the fee payment form.
There was no need to send the DD but if you sent the DD and included a cover letter which contained your full name, passport number and the date they received the previous application, they will match it up for you. If they are able to successfully charge your credit card, your DD will be returned to you by regular mail.
However, you will not receive any notification if they received your first application or the second one. You will have no way to track them, this is the same for all applicants. If your application is accepted, you will receive your PER in your email.
All the best :)

Thanks a lot for the feedback Pipis Husband.. However, I forgot to mention my passport number in my covering letter, which I had attached with the DD.
Hope that shouldn't be an issue. I only mentioned the date on which my first package was received by CIC.

By the way, I had recently tried to pay for an online transaction using my card, which didnt go through since I failed to enter the secret pin code. Hence, I dont think CIC will be able to access my account that way. The only way they can process my fee, is if they match my second package with my first..
Also, the first package was sent in July and the second in September, exactly 2 months later. Hope that wont be an issue. W

Hope it gets through.

Thanks.

Hi, as to the charging of credit cards, you are thinking CIO will charge your credit card the same way a card holder does but this is not the case. CIO will charge it the way a 'merchant' charges a card internationally and this requires no 'secret pin code'. You can google this online for your information.
As to your different packages sent in July and September, you can send CIO an email to find out if they will match them but be advised they may not respond til six weeks. This is the email, cio-sydney-search-enquiry @ cic.gc
All the best.

It's no problem, debit cards are accepted, wether from Visa, Mastercard or other local card variants.

Hi, if your eligibility review is successful, CIO will send you a confirmation of positive final eligibility review. This will be by email if you specified an email on your application, otherwise they will send a letter by regular post. They will then transfer your file to the CHC/VO (Canadian High Commission/Visa Office) for further processing.

Once the file gets to the visa office (which usually takes 2 to 6 weeks) your ECAS status will be updated. You can check using the UCI specified in your PER.

Once your application arrives at the visa office, they will sit on it for a while. When they are in a position to process it, some visa offices will send you an AOR. Some offices send it by email, and others send by regular mail. There is still no need to do anything at this stage. A few visa offices, most notably London, will not send a 2nd AOR at all but will skip this and go straight to medicals, or ask for further documentation.

What you can do now is wait patiently, all the best.
