Does anyone know why CIC is requesting for "a lease or evidence that your sponsor owns a house in Canada"??

It would be evidence that the sponsor intends to return to Canada if s/he is currently living abroad.

This is a very important piece to the puzzle for an Outland application; proving intent to return to Canada after sponsoring their spouse or partner.

it seems like they want proof the sponsor is living in canada. so if she doesn't have a lease/mortgage write a letter explaining this and provide other proof of residence. paystubs with address from a canadian employer, bank statement with address, a letter from her parents, copy of driver's license, etc.

What should the letter from the parents say more specifically? Thx!

i am guessing information about the arrangements made for her to stay there and for how long, if they are receiving any compensation or help from her, stuff like that... proof that she resides there with them.

Thank you!!

Last month they asked my spouse's 2013 tax return. Waited another month because of that. I guess I should send everything I have. I don't know why they ask all the missing documents at once...
