So, basically i had a post graduate work permit of 3 years and after my graduation i worked 3 different jobs but all were part time or seasonal, i finally got a full time job in the bank as a teller and was so happy that i got a stable job and could apply for my PR soon. But, today after my first day to work i realize that its NOC Code 6551 which means its skill level C and its considered unskilled, therefore i am not eligible to apply under CEC for PR :( OMG i waited so long (for some reason wanted to get in the bank) and with a 2 year diploma i took me a year jst to get this year, i also worked at as tax return prepared for 5 months full time (40 hrs a week) but that job also is not considered skilled level (FML) and worked hard to get this job I was so happy its good pay and full time benefits and all that n now i feel like a loser :( what on earth im going to do now?? Damn it I had so many plansssss!!! what should i do now..i really need a job n cant afford to quit jst this it was my first day n now all ma excitement is gone knowing this job wont get me anywhereee ..is other anything i can do to appply for PR? plz advice n any sort of suggestionss

thankss :)

actually i wanted to add something..i came to canada as a diplomate being a temporary resident bcz ma dad worked in the embassy and after 4 years of his work he went back home to continue his job n i decided to stay here in canada n ma status was changef from diplomate to international student in feb 2011 n i gradauted in oct 2011 but never had to pay international fees , if i wanted to swtich my program or start a new program then i would have to. i graduated with 2 yrs diploma in business accounting ..i dont knw if thats makes a difference. :s

I would look at the PNP. This would be your best bet. Do a search on Google for PNP and your province - it will give you all the details.

I hope this helps - good luck!

Yes, look into the PNP program for your province.

Also, when you get to the point where you know the job and feel comfortable with your supervisor, ask to have a discussion about advancement opportunities. You still have 2 years left on your PNP, if you were to get promoted to teller supervisor or manager trainee, for example, that would be skilled employment.

And obviously, you can enjoy the work while you look for other skilled employment.

PNP buddy, that's your only chance with unskilled work. Check what the requirements are for PNP in your province and if you don't qualify then relocate to a province where you would qualify for PNP based on your job. That's your only option. Or go back to school.

Manitoba PNP is not as easy as it looks when it comes to demonstrating strong connection to Manitoba.
They will probably not nominate you if you have a family, have studied or have lived in other province.

Well im in ontario and with PNP ontario I read u still need (A full-time job offer, for which they are qualified, from an approved Ontario employer in a skilled occupation (listed as NOC A, B, or 0) :s...so that still makes my job unskilled bcz it falls under level C. i think everything else is fine i meet the requirmetns with Job Offer Stream category under international student category. But, i still dont think i can apply for PNP bcz when i graduated from college with 2 years diploma of business accounting i right away applied for post graduate work permit n that is expiring in 2014. my plan was to apply under CEC which failed really bad i think!
