Hello there!
I am a Syrian National residing in UAE for the last 8 years and I am preparing my papers to apply for FSW under 1233 (Insurance Adjusters and Claim Examiners) and here are my questions:

1) I went trough the description of the occupation, shall I copy paste the information mentioned in it in my experienceletter? Is that a good idea? or the VO will not like it?
2) My transcripts need to be translated into English from Arabic. the VO requires the transcripts to be in a university sealed envelope. I am not sure how can I do this as I need to open the envelope in order to translate the transcripts
3) Which VO shall I use? I am eligible to send to London and Damascus. Judging from the speed of processing post 2008, Damascus takes 9 months whereas London 13. Any opinions on where is better to send?
4) I am the main applicant, do I need to submit supporting documents (university transcripts, experience letter) for my wife as well? I know I need to obtain policy clearance for both of us but what about the rest of the required documents?
5) Does it make a difference if my wife accompanies me to Canada? I am asking this because there is a question in one of the application forms asking if any family members will accompany the main applicant...
6) Will the 29 occupations change after 26/6/2011? I am asking this because I am afraid I might not arrange for all the required documents to be ready before June 2011 and I miss out... and I know as per the new rules I need to send all documents along with the application

Thanks so much for your help!

I think its fine. I did that too.
2) My transcripts need to be translated into English from Arabic. the VO requires the transcripts to be in a university sealed envelope. I am not sure how can I do this as I need to open the envelope in order to translate the transcripts.
Hm well i would think translation is more important. I wud think its better to open and translate. I dont know how u can seal it after that. Maybe just let it be.
3) Which VO shall I use? I am eligible to send to London and Damascus. Judging from the speed of processing post 2008, Damascus takes 9 months whereas London 13. Any opinions on where is better to send?
I would think London is better but i think its up to u.
4) I am the main applicant, do I need to submit supporting documents (university transcripts, experience letter) for my wife as well? I know I need to obtain policy clearance for both of us but what about the rest of the required documents?
I dont know. I am not married so not sure.

I dont know about this one too.

Hi there,

1- do some little change.

2- fine. Just get them translated thru authorized body and write a letter to explain what you've done.

3- yours could be either Damascus or London as per R11:
• A citizen of a country that is part of the visa office's area of responsibility;
• An individual who is currently residing in a country that is part of the visa office's area of responsibility, as long as that individual was granted legal admission to that country for at least 1 continuous year.

4- Yes. As long as you claim points for her, you need to submit education papers. Other papers and forms are also required like marriage certificate, passport copy...etc. If she won't accompany you to Canada, this won't be an issue.

5- already answered

6- yes, there is a high likelihood that NOC and the whole mark system will change. Better you apply now.

I don't know about you, but most of papers, other than POF and PCC should be with you. Keep in mind, you don't need the PCC now to submit your app, you will need them before your VO starts processing it.

Good luck.

Thanks a lot for the info...

I have another question.
I have finished high school (12 years) and after that did a 2 year associate degree in the university. Is this equivalent to 20 points?

Also, my wife did high school and a bachelor's degree in business (4 years), is this equivalent to 4 points?

Correct for both, 20 for you and 4 for your wife.

Thanks again.

If my score is above 67 without the language points, do I still need to take and submit IELTS results?
