Hi guys,

We're a married couple from Israel and we just received our PR application form, so excited! but we have a few questions:

1) When we upload official documents such as birth certificates, if it's already in English, does it need some sort of verification? what kind?
2) What is a "Certified Translator" mean? there's no definition in the CIC website, and some of our documents are in Hebrew/Russian/Ukrainian.
3) If my current job does not grant me any points, should I remove it from my Work History and just leave it in Personal History?
4) If I do leave my current job out of my Work History, do I need to change my EE application? isn't it locked? does it affect anything?
5) My wife was born in Ukraine in 1986, and that's what we wrote in the EE application. Now, in the PR application we noticed that there is an "USSR" option, do we need to change it in the EE application too?

Thanks a bunch!
Guy

1 - No
2 - Basically a translator who is a member of CTTIC - if you get a translation from such member then an affidavit/notarization is not required.
3 - Yes
4 - You can make the change as long as it doesn't affect your score.
5 - No idea, there is a Russian/Ukranian thread you might want to ask that question there.

4 - so basically I can make all the changes I want in the PR application as long as the score should remain the same?

I don't know what kind of changes you're planning to make so I can't say "yes" to your question.

For the most part changes that do not put your score under the cutoff score of the draw or changes that do not affect the eligibility in the program for which you've been invited are fine but some changes require a letter of explanation.

Thanks,

the changes I plan to make are:

1) decrease funds from 20,000 CAD to 17,000 CAD (not critical, just for convenience);
2) change my wife's place of birth from Kiev, Ukraine to Kiev, USSR;
3) remove my current job, that grants me no points, from the Work History and insert it in Personal History; and
4) remove all four jobs of my wife's from her Work History (they grant me no points) and insert them into her Personal History;

that's it.

All of those changes are fine.
