A FEW QUESTIONS ON OUTLAND APPLICATION

Hello,

I am currently filling out a ROUGH COPY of our outland application and have a few questions regarding some of the forms. Also, just want to make sure I'm on the right track with everything.


BACKGROUND: I (applicant) am a US citizen, my fiance (sponsor) is a Canadian citizen. we will be getting married feb 22/2015

Forms Needed
Sponsor:
1344, 5481, 5476 (NA), 5401, 5409 (NA), 5540
Applicant:
0008, 0008DEP (NA), 5669, 5490, 5406, 5476 (NA).

1) on form IMM 0008 CONTACT INFORMATION:

MAILING ADDRESS: I will be putting the mailing address as my fiances address since I will be residing ("visiting") with him after our wedding
RESIDENTIAL ADDRESS: Since I will be residing ("visiting") in canada, should I use the same address as the mailing, or use my address in chicago (even though for the time being I will be not residing there) ?

2) IMM 0008 DEPENDANTS

I do not have any children, therefore I clicked "remove dependent" from the application (filled out online)

3) IMM 5490 LIVING ARRANGEMENTS

#27 Have you and your sponsor lived together?
Before our marriage we never lived together, therefore I will be saying No. We travel back and forth between YYZ & ORD. I don't understand why it wants me to explain..It's not even legal for me to live with my spouse. I can visit for 6 months, but not LIVE.

#28 Are you currently living with your sponsor?
When we submit our application, Yes I will be "living" with my sponsor during the processing time. However, if I click "yes" is there going to be an issue since technically I am only "visiting" for 6 months, then applying for an extension if the PR is not granted by then. I don't want anyone to think I don't understand the difference between living and visiting.

Hope this makes sense, and thank you in advance for your time and advice.

CIC and CBSA are two different entities. You tell CBSA you are visiting, but you can tell CIC you are living together.

So yes, you can put the Canadian address there, no problem. If you are currently staying at the same place as your spouse, then you are living together.

# 27 some people live with their partner outside of Canada others live together for 1 year with an extension of visa others live 6 months in one country and 6 months in another . My answer was no also.

As said above, when it comes to the PR app, if you are staying with your spouse, it's considered to be living together regardless of your status. It doesn't matter that you are a visitor; you could be here in Canada illegally and it's still considered to be living together.
