A few questions on Landing

Hi,

I am planning to complete my landing formalities this or next weekend from USA driving from Chicago. I need help on a few questions. I do not intend to stay in Canada after landing immediately, but will be movinf permanently at a later time. I am an Indian citizen on H1B visa.


1) Where to enter (preferrence) - Windsor Tunnel or Ambassador Bridge?

2) Drive my own car or take a rental? I prefer to take my own car as long as I don't have to pay anything now. I read somewhere on the forum that taking a rental may be an issure

3) Passports, CoPR, B4, B4A, E677, documents for re-entering USA.. any other check points?

4) I presume not invoices are required for goods to follow items

5) Any Jewellery is to be shown pictures of now ? and does the declared jewellery need to have invoices at all (most jewellery in India is bought without invoices).

6) Addrss of friend should be from Toronto or something from BC or Alberta should be ok. I intend to say that I'll be here for a few days until i find a job, then head back to USA to wrap-up and permanently move.

Not sure about this.

Doesn't matter. I took a rental car and there were no issues. Remember to add your car in the list of goods to follow.

Proof of funds

4) I presume not invoices are required for goods to follow items
No invoices required for any items even when you are importing them later

Attach the picture of your jewellery with the list of goods to follow. You should get the jewellery appraised.

Any address is fine. I landed in Vancouver and gave a friends address in Toronto. I said the same as you intend to say and there were no problems.
