Hi I have a few questions regarding spouse sponsership.

1.I am going to get married in June, can I get the police clearance first and do my physical exam now before I send out the application?

2. do I need to apply for brith certificate?

3. as for criminal check,shoud I apply for the one in Canada? I stayed there about 3 years in the past.

1. No, the police clearance cannot be older than 3 months when they receive your application. The medicals are valid for a year so it is best that you do them right before you send in your application.

2. Yes, you need a birth certificate

3. I didn't apply for one in Canada, as the guide says you need one for all other countries but Canada you have lived in for more than 6 months..

Number 3 I am not sure if it differs between inland and outland app or whatever, so someone else will have to fill you in better on that one.

When I applied for my last work permit CIC requested a Canadian police certificate from me because I've been here for more than 6 months. It was still valid when I applied for PR so I included it in the application.

Recently I saw some people one the forum who received a request for a Canadian police certificate. They all applied outland. I know you usually don't have to include it but I would. It might save you some time later.

Nope, being pregnant does not make your sponsorship go faster. In fact it might make it slower because when they request a re-med and you're still pregnant, you will have to wait until you give birth before sending the re-med (because you cannot get an xray while pregnant), plus you have to send in separate paperwork for your child, which will delay your application.

Also if you think about it, why would being pregnant speed up your application? They don't even know if it's your husband's child or another man's while the baby is still inside you.

Mikeymyke you sure have a way with words . sarah johns, Mikemyke is right but he hasn't chosen his words well . Being pregnant will only discharge conditional 51 that's all . If your husband is Canadian born you will be able to apply for citizenship for the baby .

Actually, if she is pregnant and the baby is not yet born before the initial application is submitted to CIC condition 51 will apply to her. Condition 51 only gets waived when at the time of applying (initial submission of application to CIC) they have a child.

sarah johns posted this question to day May 10th and she said her husband is applying in January that gives her 8 months .I responded on that assumption that she will have the baby before submitting her application.

thanks all for your concern . but i have some points i dont understand im not that familiar with the conditions so what is condition 51
plus im pregnant now and will give birth on January and he may travel after to submit my papers so how long my sponsorship may take ? and does he have to have stable income from canada and a work there to sponsor me ?
which is the better to submit from Montreal or Quebec because i know each of them have a separate immigration laws so which of them would be better . thanks alot

Condition 51 simply states that your PR is conditional on the two of you staying together for at least 2 years. However, if you have children at the time of your application, that condition is waived.

Is your husband a Canadian Citizen, or a "permanent resident"?

The city of Montreal is "in" the province of Quebec, so there is no difference.
