Hi there,

1. When a form asks about current work permit dates.
From ______To______
What should I put in the To box.
The date I submit the form?
The date my permit expires? (next year)
Or "Present"?

2. The top of some forms says that the principle applicant and each person involved, children etc.. Must complete their own separate form...
I am the principle applicant and my Canadian spouse is sponsoring me.
No one else involved.
Does she have to complete a form?
She's not really applying for anything.

Any advice appreciated!

Thank you.

I think I typed "Present" for the end date of employment dates. Also, I put the applicants info only, not mine (I'm Canadian sponsoring my spouse)

Ok great. Thank you!

Do you know anything about biometrics...

I had them taken and submitted 18months ago with my IEC visa.

They won't have changed. But I imagine CIC will want a fresh set.

However no where is doing them right now due to covid.

I think the medical / physical side of things comes later? After you've submitted, once they have reviewed it, they will request you to go get these things?

Biometrics are good for 10 years so no need to even think about that :) And yes, they will email you when they would like you to get your medical. It's hard to say when that will happen but keep checking your email! Good luck.

They almost always require new complete biometrics for PR applications. There seem to be occasional changes or exceptions with covid. But if you check the are biometrics required, PR application is one of the lines where they are required.

Oh wow, really? Seems like a giant waste of time, money and services... why am I not surprised?

I could speculate about why but only a guess. If I'm not mistaken, it's not that long ago that they started letting biometrics be valid for up to ten years and multiple uses.

So I imagine they've decided that it's an acceptable risk to have some biometrics mistakes for other types of visas, but for PR, it needs to be established with a higher degree of certainty that biometrics for a person on file correctly correspond to the person holding the passport.

But a guess only.
