Good evening,

I will be applying for PR inland through the spousal method.

I have a few questions i hope someone can answer:

1. IMM5710 Q1. I currently have a closed work permit. Should I enter my UCI here or leave it blank?
2. IMM5710 Q7. I have been working in Canada on work permits for the last 5.5 years. Should I put down the original date on my first work permit as the "FROM" and the end date of my current work permit as the "TO"?
3. IMM5710. DETAILS OF INTENDED WORK IN CANADA. I spoke to someone at the CIC call centre and for an open work permit they suggested entering "any employer" in Q2a and "Any location" in Q2b. Should I leave Q3-Q7 blank?
4. IMM5406. Does my wife who is my sponsor need to complete this form as well as myself?
5. IMM5285 Q12. In terms of proving my relationship with my wife is genuine and continuing, do you think the following would be enough? (I have already added around 15 photos of our trips for Q7 including our trips to meet my family in Australia.)
- 30-40 photos of our relationship since 2012 to the present including photos from our wedding, photos with our families, wedding shower, baby shower and photos with our son (who we had earlier this year)
- birth certificate of our son
- proof of joint bank account
- proof of mail delivered to the same address (I moved in with my wife 2 years ago)
- original copy of our wedding invitation and program
- proof that we are beneficiaries on our life insurance policy
- around 15 screenshots of Facebook status updates i.e. date of engagement, birthday gifts etc....

Thanks for the help!

Your proof sounds fine.
The sponsor does not fill out the Additional Family Info form (5406).

Thanks!

Would anyone be able to answer my first 2 questions?

Hi,

1. You already have a UCI, enter your UCI. It is printed on your work permit. Look for it on the top left corner of the work permit.
* If you don't enter your UCI when you already have one, you are committing misrepresentation.

2. Since when have you lived in Canada continuously? Did you originally entered Canada and lived here with a work permit?

3. This form is extending your stay in Canada as a worker. So you should enter the company's address and your LMIA no., since you said it's not an Open Work Permit. Only if you live in Quebec, then fill in the Quebec part.

4. If you read the Document Checklist carefully, it will say what forms need to be completed by Sponsor and vice versa.

5. You can probably use like mortgage payments or rental receipts with both your names on it too, if you'd like. Just don't overly overly overwhelm your application. But your proofs sound pretty neat.

Note: You have to read and re-read what the forms need. Sometimes after you read a few times, you will get what exactly it wants. Don't overly trust the words of call centre agents, immigration help centres and ever lawyers. Their futures are not on the line, but yours are. I almost misrepresented myself after seeking the advice of a settlement advisor from a place CIC recommended, but I caught it just in time before I sent in my application.

Good luck and take care mate.

Thanks Oak.

2. I have lived in Quebec continuously since 2010. Should i enter my FROM as the date I arrived in Canada and the TO the end of my current work permit (which is in December this year)?

3. I was told by a friend who is also applying for residency that on the 5710 open work permit form to indicate that i am applying for an initial work permit or a work permit with a new employer. (I am currently unemployed). I do have a current LMIA and CSQ for my work permit that expires in December. Should I use these or leave the fields blank?

Thanks!

Hi,

2. Yes. You are correct. FROM is the date you originally entered Canada as you said you have lived continuously in QC since 2010 and TO is the end date on current work permit.

3. Okay, I understand now. Leave it blank then. Then attached a clearly written/typed explanation letter.

Good luck!
