A couple of questions

Hi,

Well first of all let me tell you a bit about myself, I am 26 years old, I have a B.A in Italian & English Language and Literature, I've been working as an online freelance translator for 4 years now. I'm married and my wife also holds the same university degree. I have done several online tests to see if I am eligible for immigration to Canada and all of these tests said that I'm eligible for immigration. However, when I checked out the official CIC website and went through their short test, I got the following message:

"Based on your answers, you are close to qualifying for the Federal Skilled Worker Program. It appears that you could be eligible to apply if you secured a pre-arranged job in Canada."

Just one question here, how can I get a job offer in Canada if I'm not gonna go there until my application is accepted (5-6 years). I mean no employer would offer me a job now so that I can come to Canada after 5 years and take that position. Am I making sense here? or is there anything else I should know?

Another thing, if I get a PR I am also planning to remain working as a freelance translator just as I am right now, would that be OK?

One last question, I heard that all these immigration lawyers and companies don't do anything other than filling my forms and offering some help, are these worth the money they charge? or shall I go on my own here? and do I have any options for immigration other than the Federal Skilled Worker Program given my situation here?

Thanks a lot.

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
It wouldn't be 5-6 years. Under the new rules, it's faster, especially with a job offer.

The problem is getting the job offer. Other people have looked online, sent hundreds of CV's in email and if they were lucky, maybe they got a job offer. It's not easy.

well what I meant is that no employer would be willing to offer you a job offer and wait for you to come for 5-6 years! it just doesn't make sense, am I right?

Like I said, it would never be 5-6 years. Especially not with a job offer. I don't know where you got 5-6 years.

Lets see
BTW if you get job offer you go to Canada on work permit and then get PR later. Anyway, PR process under skilled worker stream is supposed to take any where between 6-12 months.
