Hi,
Well first of all let me tell you a bit about myself, I am 26 years old, I have a B.A in Italian & English Language and Literature, I've been working as an online freelance translator for 4 years now. I'm married and my wife also holds the same university degree. I have done several online tests to see if I am eligible for immigration to Canada and all of these tests said that I'm eligible for immigration. However, when I checked out the official CIC website and went through their short test, I got the following message:
"Based on your answers, you are close to qualifying for the Federal Skilled Worker Program. It appears that you could be eligible to apply if you secured a pre-arranged job in Canada."
Just one question here, how can I get a job offer in Canada if I'm not gonna go there until my application is accepted (5-6 years). I mean no employer would offer me a job now so that I can come to Canada after 5 years and take that position. Am I making sense here? or is there anything else I should know?
Another thing, if I get a PR I am also planning to remain working as a freelance translator just as I am right now, would that be OK?
One last question, I heard that all these immigration lawyers and companies don't do anything other than filling my forms and offering some help, are these worth the money they charge? or shall I go on my own here? and do I have any options for immigration other than the Federal Skilled Worker Program given my situation here?
Thanks a lot.
