Greetings,
I am a Lebanese student still having one year to earn my Bachelor in Electronics and Communication Engineering.
I have a CGPA of 3.6 and I am planning to continue my higher education in Canada, specifically looking to earn an MASc in a related program.
Here is the situation with complete honesty: My long term plan is to earn my masters degree and then become a permanent resident of the state of Canada. What are the ways that I can follow after earning my Masters degree to accomplish this task? Is it probable that it could be accomplished or does it have a low probability based on your experience?
Also, I have looked intensively for Canadian universities, and the University of Ottawa interests me a lot. However, it says that the minimum amount of money I need each year is 26,000 dollars. Although, I would be able to provide this amount of money, do you know other universities that offer such programs to international student but with lower fees? Maybe in a province other than Ottawa where the living costs less?
My last question is the following: I have started from 25 August my plan to immigrate as an international student to Canada. However, my IELTS exam is scheduled to 17th of November. So most probably I will have to apply to a canadian university during December. Do you think I will still have time to earn a study permit - if I was accepted ofcourse- and to start the fall 2013 program normally?
Please help, I have searched through numerous websites, but I am always short on information, and I want everything planned well.
Thank you in advance,
Regard,
Mahmoud
