Hi.
I am planning to apply for citizenship next month , but not sure if I should include my son as a minor or not. He is 17 now and will be 18 this July which means he will turn 18 before the end of the application process. Could you please advise if he can be granted as a minor ? otherwise is it better to wait until he turns 18 and apply by himself ?

Thanks for your helps.

You can apply for him. In the instructions to apply for a minor, it only says:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/citizen/0003E.pdf said:
Minor children must:
• be under 18 years of age at the time of the application;

• be a permanent resident of Canada;
• have at least one parent (includes adoptive parent) who is a
Canadian citizen or who will become a citizen at the same time as
the child.

Applying for him as a minor saves him from taking the exam. He will still have to take the oath though.

You would need to consider the age at time of the application , so since he is just 17 at time of application, then you are the one who would need to apply.
