My husband and I need to send in more proof of our relationship. We have 954 word pages of text messages! We don't want to bombard CIC with this amount of info but at the same time we want to avoid an interview. Per our table of contents, I will section out specific messages (going to Canada, activities together, etc.) but when should we stop? Or should we send everything so there is no question? We appreciate any info!

How much did you send to begin with?

Definitely do not send that much. No one's going to read it and it'll cost a fortune to send. Send a sampling here and there throughout the history of the relationship. Show big things like birthday messages but also the mundane every day stuff. Include bad things too, like when you were fighting. You want to show that your relationship is real.

I sent only 15 pages of fb chat and my notes said they "shredded excess chat logs." lol I also sent maybe 4 pages of me chatting with friends and family about my partner and maybe 5-6 pages of text messages between my partner and his parents. 900 pages is a ridiculous amount, to be honest. I'd try to bring it down to no more than 15-20 pages if you could. Try to hit high points in the relationship.. first time you said "I love you," mention of visits, talking about future plans, those sorts of things. I really think that chat logs are probably the least considered of all the evidence. I think they look a lot more at concrete things, such as shared leases/mortgages, bank accounts, insurance policies, photos together and with family.. that sort of thing. If you didn't send enough, they will likely just ask you to send more. Interviews are more likely in cases of criminality or major red flags.

The person we hired told us to send in 10-15 photos, so we did 12

We thought as much lol. Thank you!

I would say not to send that many, send a variety through out your relationship like the others have said and include other things if you have them like cards, letters, Skype chats or phone records. I added a few letters from family as well. And recipts from visiting each other since we drive back and forth and don't have plane tickets.

Good to know, thank you! We don't have things like that (except family photos) because we don't live together, so we are trying to send them everything and anything. Thanks again :)

Ok great, thank you! We certainly didn't want to print that much lol.

Cheater way: Authorized user on each other's Credit Cards

Also, name each other on life insurance or health coverage (even if you technically can't use it yet). My wife was able to get added onto my bank account (she is staying with me in Canada).

They told you to only send in a few photos as proof of relationship? That is monumentally stupid and you really should be demanding money back.

I just counted and we sent 55 photos in total.

Oh you have no idea. That's not the only thing they were incompetent about as, we just discovered last week. Needless to say, that's why I trust (and love!) everyone and their advice here.

While 10-15 is a bit light, there have been many Americans who have sent around that (or less) and didn't have an issue.

However it is always to be safe than sorry. I sent ~50.

But please do not send 900+ pages of chat logs. 10-20 pages is fine. As Panami mentioned, others have gotten their notes to see a similar message about too many pages of logs and shredded without reading. Though those other people have sent in like 100+. Surprised they said the same for 15.
