I'm writing this to ensure none of you lose hope in your persuit, as I was about to during my journey. After 1 year of continuous efforts, I finally managed to get an approval on my study visa application. First, my profile.

I have a gap of 9 years. The entire gap is covered by work experience. My highest educational qualification is HSC - Highschool - done in 2012 (yup, had to move out of the house after that), and to top it all, I have a gap of 4 years between my SSC (2008) and HSC, as opposed to the regular 2 years. I scored 68% in 10th CBSE, and 58% in 12th State Board.

First application,
Type: Non SDS
Applied from: Delhi
College: Capilano University, Vancouver
Course: Business Adminstration Certificate (post Highschool certificate)
Duration: 1 year
Start: 10th May, 2021
Applied: 13th Feb, 2021
Rejected: 22nd April, 2021
Reasons: ALL generic ones
Finances, home ties, course not relevant, English language proficiency. I got admission in this college without IELTS because I studied in Uganda for 7 years when I was a kid. Hence, ELP exemption.

Post rejection, I changed my college and course. And went through SDS to support my finances. Also, I realised later the complications a 1 year course would cause for PGWP and PR. Hence, I chose a 2 years course. For language proficiency, I did IELTS. Got band 8.(9,8.5,8,7.5)
Second application,
Type: SDS
College: St. Clair College, Toronto
Course: Diploma in Business
Duration: 2 years
Start: 12th May, 2021
Applied on: 8th May 2021
Biometrics from previous application: 8th May, 2021
Upfront medicals: Updated on 12th May, 2021
Eligibility started: 13th May
BVL: 13th May
Decision: Rejected on 27th June, 2021 (Around 17,000 applications got rejected the same day)
Reasons:

• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.
• Your proposed studies are not reasonable in light of: your qualifications, previous studies, missing mark sheets, academic record, level of establishment, language abilities, financial ability, and/or your future prospects and plans.

Fewer paragraphs, but same reasons. I didn't get it.
I had SDS for finances. Even had bank statement with 6.5 lakhs attached to the application.
I had BAND 8 in IELTS. I DID ATTACH ALL MARKSHEET. The only thing different was *academic record.* Which made sense. I was a crappy student. Just look at my grades.

Anyhow, when I got the decision, I was 3 days short of my term end. So I gave the term finals anyway. Scored a GPA of 4.0 (out of 4.0). And decided to use this to my advantage.

I applied again. Third time.
Same documents. Just new bank statements with 5 lakhs this time (I spent a bit of cash during all of this ) And instead of the old SOP, I attached a Justification Letter. Youtubers ask you to attach a justification letter with the old SOP, but my consultant said they would already have the old one so why waste their time.

Applied: 28th July, 2021
Biometric updated: 28th July
Medicals updated: 16th August

And then nothing! Nothing for weeks. I got frustrated. I got fhe transcript of my term on 17th August and raised a webform get it attached to my application. No acknowledgment. My second term began on 7th September. So I decided to raised another webform on 14th September. I got the generic acknowledgement on 15th September. And then nothing. And then finally wrote an email to Delhi immigration on 22nd September, 2021 at 5:30 PM. Got 2 automated emails immediately. And 1 generic response on 23rd 1 PM.
This was my updated timeline as of then,

Applied: 28th July
Biometrics: 28th July
Medicals: 16th August
Webform 1: 18th August
Webform 2: 15th September
Email: 22nd September
Eligibility: 24th September (12:38 am)
BVL: 24th September
PPR: 24th September

And viola, after 1 year and 21 days of struggle, I finally got what I had been dreaming of from so long.

I'm just writing this to ensure you guys never give up. All these months, I would read your responses and replies to posts by others about timelines, and SOPs, and hurdles faced. This is a strong community. And everyone's fighting their battles. Stay persistent. Things do get better. If anyone needs help, feel free to drop me a message. I'd gladly share my documents with them.

Cheers !
(P.S I'm an aethist but the last 1 month would be to differ)

Did you apply online or paper-based?
