Hello all, i have 2 question regarding job.

I have 8+ years of experience with last 3 years as top senior level manager.

Due to some personal reasons, i have to take 4-6 months of break and join a new job after that. So,

- Do i need a current job at the time of applying?
- Is full time freelancing (40 hours/week) counted as employment?

Kindly reply.

Thanks

It'll depend on points and where your experience has been (i.e. if any was in Canada) but as time goes by the points required will lower.

I don't think freelance would be sufficient unless they're lenient on that because they ask for letters of employment, job offer, etc.

But if you were working on a full time contract with one company in Canada for 1+ years maybe you can get the equivalent letters from them?

Hello, from my experience it's NOT necessary to have a current job at the time of applying. I am on a career break and my FSW/EE profile has been accepted in the pool.

It does not matter at all you have a current job or not.. all they want is your experience is gained in the last 10 years and it is related enough to NOC you applied for .. freelance is not accepted coz your certificate of experience should have your employer letter head and his contacts

It is under the FSW program, but not under CEC. Mind you, you have to be able to document it all...
