I had my photos done and I asked the lady for the size

35mm X 45mm she said where correct, so giving her the benefit of doubt I trusted her and paid

Checking the photo on top of the appendix B photo specifications template

The photo are about 1mm big width and length

Do I need to get them redone again? Or will cic be ok with them?

So annoying !!!

Just to be sure that the CEM wont return it to you if wrong, just re-do it.. :)

Appendix B should be followed:

The photograph must measure:
-between 25mm and 30mm (1" and 1 3/8") from chin to crown
- have a 35mm x 45mm (1 3/8" x 1 3/4") finished size

I had a real problem getting our photos the right size in the Philippines also. A lot of photographers have a pre-set program in their computer that says Canadian Visa. It's the wrong size for the PR application. Maybe it's the size for some other application. Go to an independent photographer who can think for themselves and set the photo size correctly with the head the right size. Bring a ruler and the guide (which is to scale) and be strict about it. Don't go to a chain like the one in the grocery store of the SM.. the people working there are just robots and will not be able to help you. They are the ones who screwed up our photo size twice even after me bringing in my ruler and showing them a sample. They told me "maybe it's okay" and that all their other clients used it and it was okay. Well guess what.. they're not CIC. He got new ones done, a third time, and mailed them to me, but they were also the wrong size. I had to send them as it was getting ridiculous.. I don't know what CEM has to say about that yet. Maybe nobody else has ever measured their photos before us. Who knows.

Hahaha! We had the same problem in Turkey. The photographer couldn't understand we needed something different than visa (biometric) pictures. I had the sheet with instructions in hand, but he couldn't believe us. We almost had to fight with him to get what we wanted! Maybe CIC should start using visa pictures for immigration, it would then save people from having terrible headaches ;)

Totally agree...! Last month we went to a very famous photo shop here in Indonesia (i.e.: the largest in southeast Asia!) and I even showed them the photo specs printout from IMM 3906.....then a few days later, we got the photos, and I didn't bother checking the results, thinking they were fine. Then a few weeks ago, just for fun I decided to measure everything out. They got the physical dimensions correct: 35mm x 45mm. However from my wife's chin to crown it was more than 30mm!! So we went back and gave them the digital file that they already gave us before, and asked them to redo the pics until they match the specs exactly. Finally they got it right...phewwww.....!

The moral of the story is: when you pick up the photos, bring a ruler and check if they precisely match the specs....caz you'll never know what could've gone wrong!
