Hi,
I am Permanent Resident in Canada, my sister is Canadian citizen but they moved to USA. My parents lives in Bulgaria and want to visit my sister in USA for 6 months ( they have already visitor visas) and then from there to come in Canada to visit me for 6 months. Do you think they will have a problem on the border?

No guarantee of course they will get a 6 month stay in either the US or Canada as both border agencies will want to see their return tickets for such a long stay and maybe also some proof that financially they will be supporting themselves for a whole year as visitors. So my guess first challenge might be the US to confirm they will leave at the end of authorised stay not to home country but to Canada.

No way to predict of course what either country will allow on entry. Also keep in mind airlines generally only issue returns approx for 11 months or so from date of issue, not from date of outward travel so that is what they will be presenting to the border agents.

Having said all above very easy to overthink things so just important to ensure they have all the answers when in front of the border agents.

Thank you for the answer. So probably will be better to stay in USA than go back to Bg and then in Canada.
