has anyone applied as a skilled worker that has <67 points but has arranged employment and the immigration got approved???

my case is i have less than 1 year experience as a pharmacist (6 months) but i can have an arranged employment/job offer... do i have a chance to apply as a skilled worker?

In all cases and types of FSW, You need to pass the 67 pass mark. AO will get you 10 points. If after these 10 points you couldn't pass the pass mark, you won't make it. Some people talked about applicants with AO and less than 67 who they managed to get thru, but personally I don't know how authentic these claims are.

It is expensive to put an application together. NOC 3131 Pharmacists has already reached 1000 CAP as well. It looks like the decision has been made for you and you can apply in 6 months when you have a full year. I hope your employer knows what a great person they are about to hire and says "Yep, worth waiting for!" The other option is to have your employer advertise and prove they were unable to hire a Canadian and go through the steps of getting approval and immigrate through Arranged Employment. Am I right, SENIORS?? Good Luck.

so it is still possible to have below 67 points and apply for FSW ? do u know anyone personal who undergo this ?

The cap will reset on 1 July 2011. I have not heard of anyone being successful with less than 67 points.

You've just about won the MOST DETERMINED AWARD, but nope, still won't cut it. To meet the Ministerial Instructions, completing a MINIMUM of one FULL year of paid employment in one of the NOC 29 occupations is just the starting point. Without that - don't quit your day job, keep reading the latest updates and instruction guides and get your documents ready for the date you reach 12 months. Work experience minimum requirements

If your application is eligible for processing, it will then be assessed against minimum requirements.

Your work experience must be:

* within the last 10 years.

If he has 6 months experience on 1 April, for example, the earliest he can apply, presupposing his NOC is still open, would be 1 October. It makes me wonder if he should look at a Provincial Nominee Programme as he already has a job offer in an O, A or B level NOC??? Any others with an opinion on that? Which Province is your job in?

@ pippin: yeh i am so determined haha ... i just really want to see my options asap so not to waste any time

the offer is from Ontario...
but provincial nominee programme requires 2 years of exp if i am correct (not sure)? i have read somewhere that one is still eligible to apply for FSW even if the cap is reached as long as he/she has an arranged employment...

anyway, if i need to complete that 1 year exp maybe October is really the time to apply.

OR

apply a regular work permit, work there in Canada and have some experience etc. then apply for canadian experience class but it will take longer

If you have arranged Employment, 1000 CAP is not applicable for you (subject to other conditions) you can go ahead and apply even if the CAP is already reached.

You would still need 67 points with or without an AEO to qualify for processing.
AEO fetches you 15 points (10 + 5 for adaptability). Even if you have less then 1 year of experience you can qualify with an AEO, as FSW-2 category does not stipulate any minimum experience to apply.
However you will get 0 points under experience & therefore may fall short of 67.

so my main obj now is to make it 67 points... :-\ :-\ :-\

"Obtained a three-year diploma, trade certificate or apprenticeship (other than university) and completed at least 15 years of full-time or full-time equivalent studies" >>> how can u define it as a full-time equivalent studies? and if i have a history of:


preschool/nursery/kindergarten 1 & 2 = 2 years
grade 1-6 = 6 years
highschool 1-4 (grade 7-10) = 4 years
college: 4-year course with 6 months internship and 6 months additional studies

will it be considered as 15 years+???

that 2 points difference with the 15 years and 14 years will really make a difference to my points (from 66->68)

Yes, correct. Certainly with only 2 months left until the cap resets it will be worthing waiting to ensure 3131 is still on the list, although it will also involve the 1000 cap not being hit for the remaining 4 months until you have the required work experience time.

I think if there's a good chance you'll be eligible - and there's every reason to believe that 3131 will still be on the list in July since it's been on less than 1 year so far - that FSW1 is worth waiting a few months for. You will then be able to work anywhere in Canada and will not be tied to a particular company.

Nursery school is not counted in education years.
