Hello my friends,

I'm planning to apply under FSW program although my score is 66, and my idea is to present my husband and me as person who will quickly become enomicaly established in Canada based on our ocupations. He is an electrician and I'm a marketing specialist in telecomunication company, both ocupation are on the list of demanded ocupation. We have close relatives (husband's sister) in toronto and we hope that visa officer fill find out that we are eligible for PR.

What do you think, do we have any chance?
Does anyone know in which moment do they charge fees? Would that be before they decide to take our application under consideration although we have only 66 points, or after they refuse and give us NER or accept and give us PER?

Thank you very much for all answers

It is expensive to put an application package together and courier it. The minimum number of points WAS 67 in the past. This number may change or the numbers allocated to the different sections could change in July. With luck you might find that your jobs net greater points than you have now. Unless you have at least 67 points you will get your application returned as it does not meet the minimum requirements. IF the new MI doesn't improve your situation, what can you do to get the number up? Resit IELTS and work for higher points? Alternately, get a job offer and apply for FSW2 or Temporary Work Permit and then apply for PR once you have Canadian experience. Good Luck.

Dear Zvercica,

Chances of getting NER are very high if you or your husband can only score 66 points.
Pls do as Pippin suggested..

Thank you all for answers.

My husband and I were so hopefull and we decided to take chances with 66 points. But, we hesitate becouse of the fees. If we apply and spend only 30 euros for courir service, it will be ok, but if we pay 30 euros for courier nad 1400 dolars (2 adults and 2 children), with minimum chances to get PER, that would be to much.

Do you know, did anyone get a PER with 66 or less points?

Thank you again.

Dear Zvercica,

Actually I have read that on CIC website that one can apply if the points are below 67, but only in case, one can satisfy the Vo that he/she can get economically established in Canada, and have strong reasons for it.

Now I cant provide u with the source of this info, and I even don't know that this rule exists or not. I will try to find it out for u.

Another thing is that I haven't seen a single applicant who gave it a shot... means applied while knowing he doesn't have 67 points..

I have also read it on the forum that Marketing executives/consultants can no more apply as 1122 according to new NOC description.

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/june-2012-changes-of-fsw-noc-list-t100681.0.html;msg1552572#msg1552572

http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/noc/english/noc/2011/ViewAllTitlesQuickSearch.aspx?val=1&val1=1122&val65=1122

You will only loose 30 Euro, coz if CIO didnt entertain ur app, they will refund and reject ur app, and will not charge ur fee..
Even if they charge fee, and afterwards decide to send u NER, u will get ur money refunded, and docs back.... but It will cost u time.

Till u dont get ur case in process, u can get ur money refunded.....

I would try to improve my band in Ielts, to get 67 points or above.
I think that Electrician (7241 and/or 7242) will remain in the Occupations in demand list.
In my opinion, complete all the minimum requirements after new rules are announced and go for it...

But try to prepare for Ielts beforehand as there is no time to waste. ;D

Nashe

Please go and do what pleases you. People have given you advise as requested yet you are insisting on pursuing the wrong thing. It is the position of the Rule, 67 or No PER..Even with your 67, you still need to demonstrate that you can be economically viable to stay in Canada. So many thing determie your being granted but the basic is the 67 points. Pls close this thread!

Zvercica......not at all a good idea to file ur FSW PR if you score less than 67 points.

Its true that an IO may consider ur case, if he thinks you would be able to economically establish urself in Canada. But the chances that ur application would be accepted are too low.

Nowadays CIC is dealing with a backlog they are finding hard to process. They are looking at chances to reject an application based on points calculation. They don't have the time to look at even ur supporting docs. CIO will first calculate ur points before providing u a PER and if u fall short, they would reject it upright. Don't forget its CIO that makes a final positive determination of eligibility and not missions.

I would advise to wait till new MI once released.
points gaining factors must be kept in consideration i.e IELTS.

Your application is guaranteed to be refused. There is no chance of approval with less than 67 points.

No, they didn't send their application.
They won the green card lottery and are in the USA since last year.

Look 67 points is definetly a criteria but not mandatory. There is one term called as substitute evaluation. Using this criteria CIO officer may accept anyone having less than 67 points or may refuse a person having 90 points. There is no harm in sending file. My friends brother was having 64 points and he is in Canada.
