65 Points, Financial manager(0111)--- should i File?

dear frnds

Im giving you my educational and work profile.

1. Education - 20/22 Points
(i) B. Com, (DU, Correspondence) - 1995-98
(ii) Masters Diploma in Business Administration - 1999-2001 (2 yrs)--Symbiosis , Pune (Distance learning)

2. English - (IELTS GT Band scores) -- 14 points

listening - 9/reading - 7.0/writing - 7.5/speaking - 6.0


3. Work ex. 21 points - more than 5 yrs (as Financial managers/ accounts auditors/managers 0111 & 1111, in my own registered firms in Delhi.)

4. Age - 32 yrs. No dependent. 10 points



Im only sceptical about the Points 22 or 20 in the Education factor.

This Masters Diploma issue is faced by many applicants, so lets examine it thoroughly.

If Masters Diploma is counted then i obtain the 67 pts, if its not counted then 65 points.
Though, my occupation is in the POL.

Queries-
1.Should i file up the PR?
2. How can i convince the VISA officers,
that, im short of just 0.5 in speaking English
and also my occupation is in Demand in Canada.

Pls guide.

the 120 days 'Complete filing period' is about to get over in 2 weeks.

can t give IELTS meanwhile and this Masters Diploma thing is making me Uneasy.

How many years of education do you have?
Is Symbiosis a university?

If you answer 17 years AND if Symbiosis is a university, you may get 25 points.

By the way, is it a masters diploma or is it a postgraduate diploma.

I cannot say for 100% that masters diploma is equivalent to a masters degree but you should make the case that it is.
Here is how you do that:

1) To get 25 points, you must have a university educational credential at the master's or doctoral level and at least 17
years of completed full-time or full-time equivalent studies.

- you should point out that yours is a university educational qualification.

2) Point out that in India, a lot of MBA's are called postgraduate diploma in management (as in IIM) but they are considered equivalent to MBA in the western world, even in Canada.

3) Yours is not just a postgraduate diploma but a masters diploma and hence it is a university educational credential at the master's level. Maybe you can even show that this is the requirement to get into a PhD program at the same university. Maybe even get a letter from Symbiosis to say that it is equivalent to a masters degree.

The above is what i will do if i needed the extra 5 points. But it is not assured that you will get the extra 5 points and sometimes, trying to prove it painstakingly can also be seen as a red flag. I would take that chance however if it were me but it is up to you to decide on the risk of how well you want to show it.

I wud lay the focus on pushing my masters diploma equivalent to a masters degree.

im making the 'supporting documents' ready for the same.

Questions -

1. shud i file my Visa papers, with the above scheme

2. Im able to get 65 not 67, wud they give me any leverage that in my Speaking English, I was just 0.5 pts.short,
which wud hv given me 2 pts and a score of 67. (if my diploma is not counted)

3. also my Financial manager occupation (0111) is in the POL, is that of any Advantage?

4. WHAT other points I shud mention in order to make my case Strong,
esp. by supposing that my Diploma is not gonna get counted.

Why dont you take the IELTS again and try get a higher score?

cant repeat IELTS meanwhile.

tho seeing my scores i guess i can make it, 16 points from Factor 2- English.

Still, i wanna file, on the basis of the points scored thru my Education 22, work ex. 21 age. 10, english 14

if i go ahead in this scenario, wud there be any repercussions later, in any way?

i can understand that u are under stress and it is valid too

i think u should go with the documents u have ,,,,,,,,,u have two university degrees,,,,one is graduation and another is diploma,,,,,,,,in your covering letter give stress to the points that u have 17 years of education

i hope they will give you 22 points in education

but if it does nt go that way,,,,,they will send ur documents back saying that ur points are not 67
then you will go for another shot at IELTS,,,,get 16/16 and refile the case

so you will definatly get PR one way or the other,,,,it happened to one friend at another thread named IRSHAD,,,,when they return our docs on the basis of points we always have an option to get more points and refile at CHC ND

i ll do as u said, wud lay stress on 17 yrs of edu.
and also, wud give docs. supporting that my Diploma was issued by govt recog.d instt and
instt in India, give Diplomas not the Degree and they hold equal value here.

any thing else i shud takare about?

In the worst case ,,appear for IELTS again and get 16 points,,that makes 67 total.. but as of now apply for PR,,in the mean time go 4 IELTS

Anil,

Pl note the biggest risk that you run not filing is that the noc 0111 is most probably to be out of occupations list which is due to be released in sept 10 take a call and file sooner than later and give it a chance....cause if you are out of occupation list then you dont face any chance....

one more bad news........Our occupation has been removed from 38 occupation list with effect from today...pls refer.......http://www.destcanada.com/Skilled_Worker.aspx

NOC 0111 is no more in the new list, Sorry for those who missed out. Canadian immigration has done the same thing as australian immigration did they also removed the Financial Managers from their list.
