600 Points for Arranged Employment

Hi Guys, I am new this blog.

(1) "600 points will be awarded for either a qualifying offer of arranged employment from a Canadian employer or a nomination certificate from a Canadian province."

Now, (2)Arranged employment:

"A Canadian employer who wants to hire a foreign national can support their application for permanent residence in the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) or the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP). Although the requirements for each program are different, the principle remains the same: the job offer has to be for full-time (non-seasonal) work in Canada and in certain types of professions as listed in the 2011 National Occupational Classification. In most cases, the employer has to apply for a Labour Market Opinion (LMO) from Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC). While the offer of employment can be a benefit to applicants, they must still meet all of the FSWP or FSTP requirements in order to be granted permanent residence."

I am a foreign worker on PGWP. I am planning to apply for EE next may only.
As (1) says, candidates who have arranged employment in Canada will be getting up to 600 points.

I am a full time worker in NOC b category. My job is NOT a permanent position nor a contract. I want clear this confusion between FULL TIME job and Permanent Job, Will people like me , who are full time workers but not permanent, will get the point????

Some of the websites say, the job offer has to be permanent. What are your thoughts?? :(

The job offer has to be permanent for arranged employment (letter from the employer) as well you will require a LMIA if you want the 600 points.

I am working for an agency in a data center. they won't give the offer letter but will provide me the experience letter. That is all.
All hopes for the PR is in big Confusion as I wont be getting that 600 points for the job. after my assessment using CRS calculator, I am getting some 380 points. :(

But still holding my hope until the rules and the new system are out.

I believe there won't be as many candidates with permanent job offer in Canada. the caps for CEC is some 21,000 to 23,000 and there are still some 3000 caps remaining under current system.
Never know Until the rules are out.
In my opinion, the new system will benefit the candidates in Canada initially, as FSW candidates will take more time to get the Permanent job offer from the Canadian employers, right?? I will be having my one year experience in Canada in next may only. hopping to apply for PR in June. I have lot of time and options as I have work permit till Aug 2016. :)

@tdot_guy
There is no minimum. The higher your score, the better chance you get picked.

No one knows how much is needed to get ITA at this point. Once the first result of draw is released (1st draw will happen in late January), we will have a rough idea of that. (The actual point cut off depends on supply and demand of ITA for each draw) And most confusion in this forum will be gone by then.

@abinto To my knowledge, "permanent" in this context means your offer is "indefinite" or no "contract end date". I wonder what would your offer be if it's not permanent nor a contract. Is there a 3rd option? ???
And "Full time" means at least 30 hours a week.

You have to have a written job offer for a PERMANENT job.
How is this deemed as permanent? If I have a letter stating I have a full time job starting on XYZ Date with no end mentioned, is that permanent?

"A fulltime employment involves a minimum of 8 hours (sometimes more/less, depending on the business) and comes with certain benefits which are not enjoyed by a part time employee. "

"Permanent" employment is generally Fulltime and the term (permanent) is mostly used in state (government) owned jobs. A "Permanent" employment starts with a probation period, successful completion of which leads to an employee termed as "Permanent" or "confirmed". Once an employee becomes "Permanent", he/she enjoys certain additional benefits like PF, Gratuity, Pension etc. The term "permanent" essentially means that the employer will not terminate an employment contract under normal condition. This gives greater stability to the employees. "

I am a full time employee with 164 working hours per month. This is not a permanent job. ie, I have few benefits such as 4% vacation pay, Employee insurance.
In order for me to to qualify for the 600 points, I need to get a PERMANENT JOB plus LMO/LMIA from my HRDC.

According to CIC "A maximum of 600 points will be given to those who receive a permanent job offer from a Canadian employer or who have been nominated for immigration by a province or territory."

I believe I won't qualify for this 600 points, as I am not a Permanent employee. This is somewhat similar to applying for PNP. IE, I f your employer is willing to give you a permanent job, then you can apply for the PNP.

What makes you think that your job is not permanent. If a job has 40 hours a week, non-contract, has standard vacation days, employee perks like 90% dental and vision, CPP then I am sure its full time and permanent.

@ praneet87:
As I said, I am working for an agency. They will never give me the permanent job offer, but experience letter. I am working for their client. If I was working for a company, say government of Canada and if that was a permanent position, the scenario would have been different. My agency clearly told me that that, this job is like an open contract. ie, They can terminate me any time or I can Leave that agency any time.

There are a lot of people like me who work for agencies and are full time employees. but one will only get the 600 points if they are PERMANENT employee. As I mentioned above, majority of CEC applicants for EE will have somewhat same points. the good news is that the CAP for CEC under EE is around 22000.

In my opinion, Our chances for EE is higher. If you look at the overall CAP reached till now for the CEC is around 5000 out of 8000. (year 2013 to 2014).

never loose the HOPE. :D.

I find it unlikely anyone would be actually get offered a job through this EE route from Outside Canada. I think more or less the people that would be selected would be by the provinces. Its baffling, I am a PR and job hunting within Canada was extremely hard as is (any recruitment procedures wants you to be already inside Canada for interviews and all) and the selection procedures demanding, I'm not too sure how someone from outside Canada will be able to secure arranged employment (do legitimate employers actually wait 6 months for someone to enter the country to employ them? Most job vacancies have to be filled on an immediately available basis). I am sure people who are already within Canada will benefit more from this directive.

Yes LOL. Finally; job market in Canada is good but doesn't mean that any random person applies for common jobs and gets in (Jobs in Finance, Tech, Engineering); It is hard to get a job after studying and living here. Getting a job after applying from outside is very very slim.

That is why most applicants will be in the 400-550 range with Canadian CEC applicants almost always above the 500 range (due to extra points being awarded for Canadian work ex).
