CIC state this will be updated at least once per week. 6 weeks after the doors opened they have still not posted a single update.
Anybody taking bets as to when they will? :)

IMO there are several NOCs which have probably already reached the cap. By failing to publish the figures CIC in my view are only creating more work for themselves. Whilst there are no figures available, people are still going to be sending applications in for these already full NOCs.

It's going to take all of 10 minutes to grab the totals and post them to the web site, WHY are they delaying like this?

i think they should distributed than in two part
1) total application received in each NOC (which can be daily updated as its just number)
2) total completed applications (for this they can take time as they wants)

atleast we can judge where we stands

Maybe they are doing a thorough check this time before posting the numbers for the applications received with complete documents and that are eligible with correct NOC + points etc.

On the FSW 2013 timeline thread, people have been speculating every week that this is it! Updates will be seen after this weekend, CC will be charged too :p nothing has happened so I don't know how to make a punt about this. But if I have to, I'd say 1st July! That's when we see the progress :)

+1 really good idea.

It would be a very simple matter to simple log the NOC (which is, or should be, written on the envelope) as the applications are received and update that tally every week. It would take 1 person 10 minutes to update the page. You could also have an "unknown" category for the apps which come in without a NOC number on the front.

Of course you can make all the suggestions you like to CIC they won't take a blind bit of notice, but nevertheless a very good idea :)

I believe in previous years they updated approximately every Friday.

Historically when a new MI comes out it takes a couple of weeks for the first update, but 6 weeks is getting ridiculous.

There are several NOCs which by now are surely filled several times over.
Yet this isn't communicated to applicants via the website, so they're still going to pouring in for those NOCs.

Not only is this offering false hope to applicants but it's also going to be cause CIC extra work.

I think it's better for everyone if they just have more regular updates and more frequent communication.

In previous years it took a couple of months before CIC began showing the number of completed applications. Once CIC started showing the number of completed applications, this total was typically updated weekly. So far it looks like this year will be no different.

That's pretty close. I also feel that one and half month is bit early.

@ Cappuccino - being a senior how about sharing few NOCs that in your opinion would surely have been caped by now. Atleast new aspirants will have some idea and may think twice before lodging an application at this stage.

Well one only has to look at the FSW 2013 spreadsheet to be able to draw conclusions.

What I will say is that I when was an administrator of the June 2010 spreadsheet, our spreadsheet members represented around 2.5% of the global figure.

There is a NOC analysis in the spreadsheet which is useful, however I think the 5% assumption is a little generous (of course, we don't know for sure). But I would think 2.5% is more realistic.

Take 2.5%, this means multiply each of those NOC numbers by 40 to get the worldwide total.
If you want to go for the more optimistic 5%, then multiple those numbers by 20 to get the worldwide total.

Let's try half way, and multiply the number of our forum applicants by 30 in each NOC in order to estimate a worldwide total. The actual numbers in that case might look like this:

The numbers are NOC, applications sent on our spreadsheet, estimated total worldwide applications (* 30)

2174 66 1980
1112 50 1500
2147 40 1200
2132 29 870
211 18 540
2131 15 450
2263 11 330

3142 5 150
3211 3 90
3212 2 60
3215 1 30
2113 1 30
3216 1 30
2145 1 30
2243 1 30
3143 1 30
2154 0 0
2134 0 0
2143 0 0
2144 0 0
2146 0 0
3141 0 0
3214 0 0
3217 0 0

You must understand this is all guesswork, but it's reasonable to assume that those NOCs highlight in red are either already full, or certainly must be close by now. I would say NOCs 2174, 1122 and 2147 are definitely full.

There's one more witty school of thought to this -
CIC says - lets examine all the applications and charge them the initial processing fee. After the PER is complete, we are no longer obliged to refund the initial fee. :p :p :p :p

Totally agree with you.

I've been on this forum starting about a couple of weeks prior to 4th May and although I have no previous experience of applying, I've read a lot on here and have a fair idea bout the NOC caps filling up quickly. It saddens me to read posts from excited applicants on the FSW 2013 timeline thread that have applied way after what I estimate the cap topping days were. Of course I hope that I'm wrong and that this forum reaches out to 20% + of global applicants and everyone that applied gets a fair chance.

Once they reach 300 complete applications for any given NOC, they won't process, charge CC/encash DD or issue PER for the applications after that. Nothing fishy can happen :)
