Hello all ,

I am a Canadian PR in Toronto since the past 10 months. I applied for a 6 months visit visa for my mother who lives in Karachi, Pakistan having Pakistani passport , around 7 months back but it got refused with reasons like insufficient ties to home country ,insufficient funds , insufficient documentation to support host's income and assets and that visa officer was not satisfied she would return etc..

I am planning to apply again but this time my mother will include her job letter( 5 years work experience) and NOC from employer giving her 4 months off also indicating the date to rejoin work again.. She also has property and club membership( which she did not show last time) in her name . She also applied for a UK visit visa 2 months back( to visit her brother in UK) and got it successfully ..

Now I have following questions:

(1)What amount of funds is considered sufficient for a 6 months visit visa?

(2)Can she apply for a Canadian TRV ( 6 months visit visa) from London , UK being a visitor there or does she have to apply from her country of origin??
(3) Over all chances of her application looking at her story

Any useful advice will be appreciated.

Regards,

Adil

1) I would suggest at least a thousand dollars a month for the time that she is going to be here.
2) No, she a resident of Pakistan and there for must be applied for in Pakistan
3) To be honest it is hard for Pakistani nationals to get a visa to Canada. You need to address the concerns that the embassy officer is raising. What are her ties to Pakistan besides her job, other children, or grandchildren? Does she own any property? The officer also said that you did show enough funds to be able to support you motyher for the time requested. You need to make it look like she i not going to try and move to Canada. It might be better if she were to come for 2 weeks and just stay until the end of the visa and before it expires renew it online.

Actually, there's nothing stopping her from applying from London. But her chances of being approved are probably lower.

Thank you ..very useful advice...No she does not have any other children or grandchildren , ,I am the only son.., Can you please clarify about online visa renewal...Is the approval rate higher in that area??

Will look forward to your reply..

Thanks..
