6 months stay and No work permit

Hey today I landed canada, and got a 6 months of stay permission and no work permit. But my course duration is 4years. I saw online it stays this happen if we have expired medical. Besides my medical will expire on 9th October, 2021. I dont think expire. What should I do now.

2. Did you show your student permit point of entry letter and inform CBSA that you're here as a student?

3. It seems to me you were admitted as a tourist and not a student.

4. Did they stamp a date of 6mo in your passport?

I am currently in FIC. why should i be tourist.

What exactly transpired between you and the officer? Did you ask officer why you are being given a 6-month permit when your LOA indicates your study period is much longer?

Did the officer tell you anything at all as to why you weren't given a student permit or why you were only admitted for 6 months? How do you know you were only admitted for six months?

There is no 4-year program at FIC.

1. Probably was only admitted for 6 months to complete the foundation course (just a guess) if successful, would be admitted to studies and would apply for an extension of SA.
2. So if it was for the foundation course, then there would be no work off campus allowed.

How did you show your student permit when you get your permit at the border?

What did you exactly show? And to who? And what did you get in return?

If you're in FIC as a tourist, you're illegally staying in Canada, since you cannot study as a tourist.

Agree OP is not taking a 4 year program. Taking a foundation course at FIC with the hope to go to SFU. Officers don’t allow off campus work for most foundation programs as they want to see you pass the course and get into SFU. That is why you only have a 6 month permit.
