thanks

Fly Emirates.I think they will let you fly as long as your passport and visa are valid.

Have your passport got Canadian Visa? If yes, proceed with making new passport. You can travel with two passports old and new.

Good luck!

You can enter Canada with only one day passport validity if you have a valid visa

actually problem is with airlines. canada is allowing but the airlines are refusing. i just asked from pakistan int airlines. i think they will allow. you can not make a passport if your previous passport is valid

Who said this that you cannot make new passport when previous one is valid? Can you please refer.

I think this one of the basic thing not to let your passport expire and this can be only happen when you renew your passport before it expires and you can renew it any time and as you said it's getting expired in April 2015 so it's a high time.

Seems like you are playing brain game hehe:D

mwrooney I appreciate you. The fellow will be able to travel with a new passport as long as the valid visa is still on the old passport with him. UK gives 10 years visa on a passport close to expiry. My wife has obtained 2 new passports afterwards. but ensures that the passport carrying the UK 10 year visa is with her when traveling to the UK. Recently USA 2 year visa has been issued to her on her latest passport scheduled to expire by July 2015. Canada gave her 1 year visit visa in our last application while I was issued 2 full years because my passport will expire in 2019.

As long as you have valid Immigrant visa, there are no issues regarding your admissibility in canada.

However, I would advise that since you have enough time 3-4 months from now, why dont you renew your passport ?

There are so many things that can go wrong with an exipiring passport. Passports are functionally considered to expire 3-6 months before their actual expiry. So one should always renew passport well ahead of the 6 months before the actual expiration date. Even if you change airlines that will allow you to board the plane, the country you are transiting in might deny you entry. So the best thing for you is to renew your passport ASAP and use the new passport for travel and old passport for visa. This is allowed Canada.

Or if you don't want to do that, then the only risk-free way is to land before the 6 months mark.
