6 months of "Application Received" at Hong Kong VISA office.. is it normal?

We submitted the application on Jan 2nd and my wife received the AOR2 from HKVO in Feb 2014 and till now, the status has been "Application received" for almost 6 months... I checked around the web as well as this forum and see one person received his/her AOR2 in Dec 2013 and only took approx. 3 months to realized the status changed to "In progress" in March 2014.

I am just start wondering are we unlucky to have been waiting for double of others' time or they are just lucky enough to get their waiting time halved??

Does anyone has any idea/update about the HKVO processing time at this moment?

any answer is appreciated.

"Application Received" is where you application status is for like 90% of the time.

Sometimes they will change it to "In Process", other times they will leave it so even if they are working on it. It is quite variable...

Thanks Keesio!!Seems it is really not just depends on the office but also the officer who processes the applications... Hoping our case is being reviewed..
