Hi, I have a quick question. I'm filling in my CEC application and when it asks to state whether you lived in another country for more than six months I'm not sure what to put.

I traveled around the US in 2009-10 for a period totaling approx 9 months but was never there for more than 6 months at a time (3 months, went home (England) for Christmas, then came back and traveled for 5 months)

Would this count as living in a country for more than six months? I haven't put it down for previous applications but now I'm not so sure...

Any advice would be appreciated!
Thanks!

According to the guide, if you lived there for 6 consecutive months or longer since becoming 18, you have to provide a police certificate.

I was wondering, if you did not put it in your previous application, and now if you want to put it in your PR application , is it going to be considered as a case of misrepresentation and a ban from Canada for 2 years?

I also have similar situation and I would also really appreciate any answer from the senior members..

I would say that those count as 2 separate trips of less than 6 months, so you wouldn't list it there, so I think you are OK. But you will have to put it on the Supplementary Travels form, and CIC might ask you to provide an FBI clearance anyway...

Thanks for the replies, the reason I didn't put it before was because my US visa is a max of 6months at a time. When I left for christmas and returned they issued another 6 month stay breaking up the two visits.

I hope it won't result in a ban... It technically is two seperate trips.

I'm putting it in the travel section and can get a PC if requested.
