Please help me,my friend came canada as sponsered by her spouse on march 2009 and got PR on june 2009.she live apart from her husband and got divorce in feb 2012,now she remarried and want to sponser her new spouse may be on june/2012.can she sponser her new spouse or wait for 5 year for sponsering.i read if anyone applied before 2 march 2012,then 5 tear not subject to them,,but she is going to apply on june /2012.it means",she have to wait for 5 year.

She has to wait five years. She won't be able to sponsor her new spouse until 2014.

Hi,who already have PR almost 3 year ago,and not apply yet for new sponser ,this rules effect that person too if he is going to apply.but my lawyer said ,this will not effect old PR Holder's.only those who got pr now.

It effects everyone who applies to sponsor a new spouse now. If you got your PR 3 years ago AS A SPONSORED SPOUSE, then you would have to wait another 2 years before you could apply to sponsor a new spouse.

I doubt it would reduce processing times. The U.S. has conditional visas, doesn't change a thing, only you have extra paperwork that you have to file at the end of 2 years to remove conditions.

She has to wait five years. She won't be able to sponsor her new spouse until 2014.

May be they can apply for TRV for there new spouse , but need to wait for PR for 5 year. Good idea as it will stop lots of scam .

Yes, she is subject to the sponsorship bar and must wait until 5 years pass since her landing date.

Very happy to see this. It's very upsetting to read posts and stories about people being scammed, not only is it heartbreaking for the Canadian citizen being scammed, but it's hurting all of us who are in real relationships and just want to be with our spouse/partner.

It's such a shame us legit people have to go prove our genuine marriage at appeal hearings while the frausters get in with ease. That's life! The good, honest people are always the ones to suffer.
