If that's true, then you are the unfortunate victim of circumstances. You cannot do anything about the ban, unless you want to hire a lawyer to challenge it in Canada. This is possible in theory, but in practice not really.

VFS statuses are not accurate and only refer to where the passport physically is, not the outcome of the application. If you have received a refusal letter, your application has been refused.
