Hey thanks. Is there a pdf available online or any material that you can share with me?

Sorry I don't have a pdf, I bought the book on amazon.

I am unable to post the amazon link, just type 'The Ultimate Guide To IELTS' by Parthesh Thakkar on amazon.in

I have writing score of 5.5 and need at least 6 to have the eligibility for Express entry.

You go to the test center where you had the exam and apply in a period of i think 6 weeks after results announcement and apply there, usually it takes 6-8 weeks for re evaluation,if other modules are lacking i would sugggest you to prepare and retake the exam or maybe even do both retake and re evaluate .

to everyone who is missing 0.5, apply for revaluation... i have seen many cases where after revaluation they get 0.5 extra marks... but thats mainly applicable for writing and speaking... listening and reading kinda have fixed answers, so no room there :) answer is either right or wrong - fullstop.

Just follow the tips given in ieltsliz.com and it should be no big deal to crack the writing. If your sentence construction is without any grammatical errors, all that you need is right techniques to get over 7. Just writing paragraphs for section 2 without following correct approach won't get high scores. The website lists all the techniques needed to get high scores. Some of the techniques that I remember are:

- paraphrasing and writing the thesis statement in the introduction
- four paragraph approach for any given topic in section 2 of writing
- Using correct linkers for conclusion
- sticking to correct word count (200 for letter) (300 for essay)
- using right salutations for the letter

All these are explained in detail in Liz videos. I got 8 in writing just by following them. Hope this helps everyone.

Dear All,

Please solve all the papers of Cambridge IELTS examination. My advice is to download all the books from Book 1 to Book 9. I scored bands 8 total just by following and solving all of these books. They are available for free online in PDF format. Also check out IELTS buddy website. Very informatiove for those wanting to increase their scores.

Also, all those who have written exam from IDP. Please write from British Council. There is much better marking done by them.

Seriously there could be next debate Delhi IDP or BC ? same boat less 0.5 every frikin time

I have attempted IELTS 4 times already and each time my score lacks 0.5 to score a band of 9.
I'm feeling very heart broken.
The 4th time my score was:-

L:8.5
R:8
S:8.5
W:6.5

Is it too difficult to convenience IDP that I'm a decent English speaker? It is just silly to keep giving the exam and score really good in rest except for writing. Last attempt I scored 7 in writing and 7.5 in listening.
The ideal score I need to get is

L:8
S:7
W:7
R:7

Its like God is playing a sick joke on me.

Can someone tell me is it possible for the PNP to open on 400? or is it definitely not opening at 400? My score right now is 408 and due to the lack of 0.5 points it drops from 453 to 408. I'm feeling very devastated with this process. Any suggestions?

I am so close yet so far. I have taken 3 IELTS attempts in 2 months. I have the 4th booked next month.

Below are my scores

1st attempt
R: 7.0
W: 7.0
S: 8.5
L: 7.5
Overall: 7.5

2nd attempt
R: 6.5
W: 7.0
S: 7.5
L: 7.0
Overall: 7.0

3rd attempt:
R: 6.5
W: 8.0
S: 8.5
L: 8.0
Overall: 8.0
