It's a good point although they could change that cut off score at a later date. Either way, I'm guessing they keep them at 400 cause pnps still want highly skilled workers and in theory those below 400 are likely missing something...astralsource said:Only thing I have a problem with is OINP staying the same taking everyone 400+. Because that is a possible indicator that they dont expect the cut off score would come to 400 in 2017.? What is the purpose of OINP then if the cut off comes to 400?
So they could change it anytime? That's that I guess. I thought they make the rules now for the whole year ahead.kryt0n said:It's a good point although they could change that cut off score at a later date. Maybe not any time, but maybe half way through their draws if they think the points scores are dropping. Who knows with these peopleastralsource said:So they could change it anytime? That's that I guess. I thought they make the rules now for the whole year ahead.
Considering nothing is announced and the update was yesterday, I suspect they will not touch anything for now.
Well, even if the CRS score comes down to 400 it would be towards the latter half of 2017. OINP is planning to switch to an online system so that everybody who applies for OINP (guess it would be done latest by February) will receive a nomination within 6 months. So by the time CRS score comes down, people who applied for OINP would have already received a nomination.astralsource said:Only thing I have a problem with is OINP staying the same taking everyone 400+. Or maybe the OINP crowd will now be those 400-420ish, depending on the cut off.
people are being wayyyy too optimistic about scores dropping to below 400, its not going to happen - fullstopvabs200 said:Well, even if the CRS score comes down to 400 it would be towards the latter half of 2017. I agree below 400 it is unlikely. It is a bit cruel though that CIC allows people to be in the pool with a score below that if there's no chancethestunner316 said:people are being wayyyy too optimistic about scores dropping to below 400, its not going to happen - fullstop
there is no report out, but can you imagine how many candidates with scores between 400 and 450 (the lowest cut off score ever in feb) have entered the pool in the last 8-9 months ? several thousands atleast... and people need to remember - more and more and more applicants keep getting added to the pool each week.
for anyone whose score is between 400-420, OINP is a great option... hopefully in 2017 they will do a better job than they did in 15-16
In the range 400-450 I think around 25-30K now TOPS.. I dont think it will ever go below 400, not very likely, agree.thestunner316 said:people are being wayyyy too optimistic about scores dropping to below 400, its not going to happen - fullstop

I know right?! Cic should keep some cut off criteria to be in the pool, based on past experiences. That way people below certain score, say 400 (which is a vast majority) will not be unnecessarily keeping hopes and would rather work on improving their scores if possible or look for other options.kryt0n said:I agree below 400 it is unlikely. The scores will not go below 400. But will certainly drop below 450. As refocusing Express entry report 2016 says that the biggest concern for stakeholders is that scores are not going below 450 and this is the point to improve on.thestunner316 said:people are being wayyyy too optimistic about scores dropping to below 400, its not going to happen - fullstop
