I have a score of 483 and my BWP will soon expire and I am currently in a job for 3 years, what are my options to not have to leave Canada, and how long does it take to obtain a Canadian Visa

How can you have a BOWP unless you applied for PR? 483 is unfortunately not enough points for ITA based on the current trend. Try to get LMIA.

I applied, got in and my application got cancelled as incomplete, because I didnt upload a PC from my country. And how long does it take to obtain a Canadian Visa? TRV

BOWP lasts a year, when does yours expire? You only get BOWP if application has passed completeness check so lucky you. TVR within Canada takes 8 days online and 13 by paper but it will only be awarded for the length of your current BOWP. You would have to apply from outside Canada to get a longer period of TVR.

Thank you , lol I have a bit of time, so not fretting right now, but its really disheartening that the scores are so high and unattainable without a LMIA, there are alot of hard working, qualified people potentially getting kicked out of Canada because of these lofty cutoff points

483 is the basic cut off for most of the draws the past months. Wait a little while, you are definitely better off than the majority.

Next draw will be next week (September 7), hopefully it reaches that CRS (highly likely) :)

I think you have a good chance to get ITA within next 10 weeks (based on all the info on the forum) as the CRS should go down... but we shall see.

Thank you @LokiJr01 and @andy108

Can anyone answer my last question, is it possible to travel to the USA only with just a work permit from Canada? I did it before but not sure if the laws have changed.

Thank youy

Do you have a valid US visa or visa exempt passport?

Hi CBTshare,

When is your post graduate work permit is expiring?

If you have 3-4 months left in your PGWP, at least you can apply under PNP for Ontario. If you are residing in Ontario. OINP likely to reopen during November. But lots of ppl will apply for it if it opens in November.

Ok, thank you I no longer have the PGWP, I have a BWOP, expires next year, but my birthday is in a few weeks, so my score will drop :( **sighs

You can enter canada without visa (just work permit) if you travel by Land (more precisely if you drive to US and get back).
