Not necessarily related to the above discussion but I still want to say few words here. As we know EE is little disadvantageous to PGWP, I would sincerely advice every PGWP holder to try and get full marks in IELTS and apply as soon as they complete one year of experience, if they get ITAs. Don't procrastinate for even a week too.

If you are in the second year of experience, try desperately to get any PNP. I know it's easy said than done but we have to do it. I have seen few so called consultants who run sham companies in papers, hire people in papers, pay them, even file taxes, and approve PNPs. I know it's wrong but they do everything legally . Company is running, you hire someone as assistant manager, pay him $25 an hour, deduct taxes too. PNPs see if you are getting paid on par, your letter has everything and they call up owners to verify, which had already been taken care of. If you are completing 2nd year on WP, you should try it.

If you enter in your 3rd year on PGWP, you need to press all panic buttons and do whatever it takes to get it done. You can't rely on CIC as they change rules overnight. Few months ago, scores were heading to 450 and now I doubt if they'd bring them below 470. I have seen the so called consultants selling LMIAs for $15-20k. Don't let yourself reach that stage.

It pains me to see so many hard working people getting ripped off by consultants and living in constant stress as a result of uncertainty. The most ridiculous part about EE is making Canadian exp equal to foreign ones. Not to say that all foreign exp is incomparable, but there is a possibility that anyone can exploit. How can you compare a manager working in photocopy shop in India to a manager in stapes in Canada ? You simply cannot. We all know what it takes to become manager in staples here to what it takes to become manager in "A-one copier" in some country like India or Bangladesh.

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
It took this long for every PGWP holder to realize what was going on??? Why hasn't anyone else said anything outside this forum?? Contact your MPs, talk to your riding representative, get together with fellow PGWP holders and rally, be active on social media, if you wanna stay you gotta do something about it at this stage in the game. It pains me to see what's happening to PGWP holders, I bash John McCallum on twitter every chance I get, and I tweet Justin to remind him about what's going on all the time. The scores are too high, I still believe in them so I think there will be changes coming very soon. I am so grateful I finally got an ITA last round, I have been living in Canada for almost 5 years now and it pains to think what would've happened if I had to leave. Best of luck to all PGWP holders, you deserve it.

Hi everyone,

I mentioned that the lawyer I was talking to said I could apply to extend WP without ITA/AOR/LMIA/PNP just to buy time.
I talked to her again, just to make sure if there would not be any issue, and if so, I would like to start preparing the application.

She said there are people who go this path, especially some people who really need to continue working for a financial reason. However, there are risks and it's different case by case and by visa officers. Although would be very rare, it is not impossible that the implied status would not be applied to the people applied without ITA/AOR, which may impact their PR application later as well. If I am willing to take the risk, I could choose the option.

I think I will just apply for a visitor visa and stop working. I don't want to risk my PR application just to continue working for a few months more.
I am still pretty optimistic the scores would come down till mine (463) sometimes this year. Or am I hoping for a miracle?

Being not eligible for PNP (No degree) and LMIA (as my occupation is pretty competitive within Canada) and having my all language components above clb 9, my only option is to have patience and wait... the situation is like hell for that there's no one to blame but myself that I didn't give my CELPIP tests a little earlier.

Good luck to you all..

+1 for this.

Nothing more frightening than being on your 3rd year of PGWP and not getting an ITA because you only have 469 points. I really hope scores drop to consider a lot of PGWP who can only have 444 points with 1 year experience and the best English scores. Or better still, award more points for Canadian degrees and work experience.

I didn't get how this BOWP app will impact on your PR case. They are in the different systems.
I think, according to CIC, the time you are waiting for your decision from CIC is called imply status. How imply status cannot apply some people?

Well, I think it is because if someone applies to extend their WP without ITA/AOR/LMIA/PNP, the VO might treat it as Incomplete Application.
On the CIC website, it says incomplete application is regarded as never submitted applications, therefore people cannot benefit from implied status.
Although I am no expert on what defines incomplete application, the lawyer said there's risk as each VO is different in that some can be more strict than others.

applicants would not know if they application was incomplete or not until they get it back and would continue working during the period of time thinking they are under implied status. If pay statements or proof for the period needs to be submitted for their actual PR application, it discloses the fact that you worked without permit. Again, would be very rare, but possible.

Not sure if it is worth to go for this path with all this uncertainty.

My PGWP also expires this year (June).
Are you sure you are not eligible for one of the PNP programs? In my case, I have a PGWP from Ontario and cant apply there since I dont live/have a job there, but I am eligible in the province where I currently live/work (no LMIA required for job offer). Maybe applying to a job in the province where you graduated will help you get the nomination (most provinces dont required a LMIA for a qualified job offer, just a permanent, full time offer in your field). Best of luck getting the ITA soon enough.
