Hello All,

I had 452 since Dec-21 and got Ontario invite the following day. I didn't accept it hoping I would get it in a draw. On Jan-13 the draw closed @ 453 and on Jan-15 i dropped to 447 due to my birthday.. :( This was certainly 1 moment when i cursed my birthday.

My Question is Shall i wait for the Draw or Accept Ontario Nomination?
What if the points does not drop and then I wish you apply for Ontario after the nomination expires?

Thanks,
Vishal

At this point- yes, accept the OINP invite. You have less than two weeks left before it expires, and as of right now, the cutoff is at 467, and it's unlikely to go that low within that timeframe. So yeah, my advice is to accept it.

EE candidates with 450 and below must apply for any PNP which comes their way as evident from all the draws till date. The score has never fallen below 450 and even it has touched 450 only twice or thrice in 2015.

To believe that the score will fall below 450, there should be atleast a draw which has a cut-off score less than 450 - touching 448 or below.

Only candidates with CRS points 453 and above can safely ignore the PNP route to secure ITA through a regular draw.

You should consider submitting your OINP application before your 45 days deadline expires.

You cannot apply with current EE profile upon PT expiry, so you need to recreate your EE profile and if you are lucky enough, you may receive a PT again from Ontario in your new EE profile. Given current scenario where CIC is restricting threshold to sub 1500 ITA and new applicants entring the pool frequently, it is highly unlikely it drops below 450.

Good luck!!

Well, the aim is to get an ITA.

You are lucky, as your CRS > 400, got your PT, now apply to OPNP before it's late.

No one can predict the scores going down / up.

It's sheer speculation.

CIC policies is not to share our positions in terms of CRS in the pool; which would have helped us to take a firm decision. To opt for PNP or not.

Some people on this delayed availing OPNP and are regretting their decision.

Better avail the OPNP.

Hi Guys,

My score is 447 points. 7.5 overall. Have not applied yet.

1. Do i really have a chance ?
2. Should i go through a consultancy or apply by myself.

1. Do i really have a chance ? - Yes, based on your score, you will get an invite from OINP. Go for OINP, the ITA scores does not seem to be coming below 450 anytime soon. But, if you can improve your IELTS score, you may stand a chance of improving our CRS and probably get an ITA.
2. Should i go through a consultancy or apply by myself. - You can do it yourself

Can any one help.

You have a chance of getting invitation for OINP.

Do it by yourself. The best advice is from reading other peoples experiences on the forum. From the experience of some on this forum, consultancies/lawyers/immigration agents can sometimes do more harm than good to your application. Put the money aside that you would have paid a consultancy and complete the application yourself.

Personal experience, I had 449 since January 2015 and waited all year long though I applied for NBPNP in around Sept 2015 and had to accept NBPNP invitation to bump up my points in November otherwise as until now I would not have gotten ITA with 449 as score never dropped below 450, same trend can follow or it may not.

But Ontario is big province and good opportunities would not hurt to accept Ontario nomination.

the only issue is that OINP only sends invites to degree holders. People after 12th and diploma are screwed.

1. Do i really have a chance ? Yep.
2. Should i go through a consultancy or apply by myself. Do it by yourself- if necessary, consult with the people on this forum. You'll get the same (maybe better) results, and save on a lot of money in the process too.

Can any one help.

I was 443, got the nomination, my score got boosted to 1043, and then I got my CIC EE. You can get a nomination with that score, don't worry :)
