37 years age, Jan 2022 intake, got refusal! Please review the application

I got my Study permit approved the first time I applied and I had 13 years of gap since previous study. Also, 2 of my classmates are over 42 and received their study permit approval at the first go.

What stood out in all our applications was this - *choice of program* - All 3 of us are from different nationalities but our walks of life fit into the course we chose to study in Canada. We did have the rest of our class all under 25 who did not really do justice to this course and struggled throughout the program but their age and explanation of how they would make a career out of this course would have been more important to their profiles.

All 3 of us were established professionals in our field prior to this course in Canada but we could all well articulate *WHY* we needed this course *NOW*

In your case, clearly, choosing the right program will increase your chances at convincing the officer to grand a study permit.

While I absolutely get your point about *why* you want to study the chosen program, I just feel it doesn't give a wholesome picture.

They still want genuine students that are taking appropriate courses. There are other ways to immigrate if people don’t qualify for a study permit.

I agree with the genuine student case. Other ways are all almost blocked now due to age and the "backlog". I will keep an eye on those paths if they work for me. But to be honest this is the appropriate course for me, I just did not do a proper job of explaining it to them. I am currently writing the new SOP. Hope it makes sense.

I agree with your points. I will address this is my latest SOP on how this course will fit into the whole picture. I really want to use this course as a stepping stone for the career shift along with the co-op work exp in Canada, this will give me a better chance of getting developer roles in India. The ROI justification is that the salaries are better for developers in general compared to test automation. I can payoff the loan in one year with the Indian salary plus part time jobs in Canada while studying. 30 Lakhs INR is not that much of a burden if you ask me. I have savings too. The cost is not an issue if you ask me.

Well boys and girls, after much research and talking to friends on this forum. And some good consultants, its been made clear that I should change the course according to my age and experience. So after much painful deliberation, I have decided to change the college and try for another course. Most probably it will be PM from Algoma Univ. This is what everybody is doing and getting their study permits. Technical courses are almost nearly impossible unless its universities, even then there is doubt due to huge work exp and the backlog and the "chinook". No point in trying again with the same course. So lets see where this goes. Changed the consultant and I think this one might be good! I will not pay him unless I get the visa, so that is a good deal I guess.
Here we go again.....

That's true. When I am spending so much money to go on a study permit, I will definitely use that time and opportunity to study the course I want to excel in. IRCC officers should not brand everyone in the same bracket as fraudsters, it's not that difficult. Just take a look at their past education, work history, financials and you will get your answer.

There are literally limited opportunities to migrate now if you are outside Canada, thanks to IRCC's inefficiency. Blaming COVID, the migrant crisis is not going to make the cut.

All I am thinking is how to make the cut. Its like an entry fee, not a fine :) Hope for the best. But they should manage this better for sure. Hopefully they will...

Ok, so we applied again with course change and consultant change(not paying him until I get the VISA, its their rule not mine!), got refused again!
We are going to reapply with everything same with documents that need updating like bank statements and such. No change in SOP.
So please let me know if this course is also wrong or suggest what could be the reason for refusal.
Here are the second application details:
SDS from India
Project Management Algoma University, 2 years Graduate Certificate course. Sep 2022 intake
Age: 38
Paid full year tuition fees
GIC
SOP written by the consultant, they dont show it because its their IP it seems :)
Applied on May 12th, rejected on July 28th, medical updated just before rejection.

This consultant has great record with older candidates applications. He is very good. Now I am worried what to do now, will it work again?
Should I apply again?

I have applied for gcms notes. But want to know any possible reasons or options before notes arrive.

What were the reasons of refusal? What kind of consultant don’t share SOP? Where are you from?

Reason: The purpose of your visit to Canada is not consistent with a temporary stay given the details you have provided in your application.

This consultant argues that his SOP is the reason he can older candidates to get study visa and he wants to keep the format and details to himself. I kinda agree and disagree. Ultimately I want the study permit and I dont pay him until I get the visa. So its fair enough considering most demand upfront money. The way IRCC is giving results, you tend to accept unfair things!

As mentioned in the post I am from India. There is huge rejection percentage for obvious reasons.
