hello guys,,,any news

Hello Everybody,

Since the FSW program is on hold till 2013 am intending to get my academic credentials evaluated before the window opens again. Am wishing to work in Ontario. So, being a BSc Nursing degree holder (4yrs), is it mandatory that i get my credentials evaluated by College of Nurses of Ontario for immigration purpose or is it acceptable if i do the evaluation by ICAS (International Credential Assessment Service of Canada)? Could you please tell the difference between credential assessment by CNO and regitration with CNO? Experts, please guide me...Thanks....

For only immigration purpose , is it necessary to get my credentials evaluated by the provincial nursing regulatory board or can i get my credentials evaluated by organizations such as International Credential Assessment Service of Canada, World Education Services etc... Because i just want to do the immigration procedure only when the FSW window opens again and later decide in which province i can work. Experts, please reply....

hey guys

Hello Unsung Hero,

If you intend to work as a nurse in Canada, your credentials should be assessed by the regulating body for nurses in each province (i.e CNO- Ontario; CARNA-Alberta; SRNA- Saskatchewan etc.) You have to decide what province you're planning to settle in so you can start you application for assessment. In my case, long before I applied with immigration, I already requested for assessment package from CNO. It will take some time for any college to assess our documents. Even if you are found to be eligible before you applied for immigration, you can apply as tourist for purposes of writing the exam. Another option also is, your eligibility is valid for 5 years so that gives you more waiting time.

Hoping this will help you decide.

Hi friends
I am a nurse by profeession ,I applied for cno registration last march, that time i obtained an ielts score of writing6.5,reading 8,listening8,speaking 8.5.but now they changed their rule that from January2013 onwards we have to obtain an ielts score of writing7 ,speaking7,reading 6.5,and listening 7.5.currently I dont have writing 7.I have only 6.5 for that.but underneath the above rule change one sentence is written.I will mention it in brackets (These are the minimum benchmark scores that must be achieved and includes the standard error of measurement of 0.5.) What is the meaning of the sentence sir?is it means if I dont have writing 7 and only have 6.5 that standard error of 0.5 will be accepted or I need to write another ielts test.I asked many people who are in nursing field but no one gave me a satisfactory answer, but I hope u can answer me.

Thanks in advance
