Yes Olga64 you are right and all the best to you. Yes experience counts and you must be currently working as a nurse also. I am also a diploma nurse and have applied for RN registration only. Now sending my second set of forms. Hoping for a positive assessment in few months. You give me hope.

Hi Guys
Yes I arrived in Ontario Sept 2011, I managed to get temporary parttime employment in retail for 3 months after arrival. Currently I am not working and studying hard for my boards June 6th 2012. I decided to do it this way as I want to try and make sure I don't fail, otherwise it is another 6 months before I can resit the CRNE. Getting work is not easy, most of the time it will be in homecare or long term care facilities. Please be prepared and ensure you do have money to cover these periods as it is expensive starting all over again. Also be prepared to study, even as an english speaking person I find that the exam questions are very tricky and misleading. It is not that you don't know the answer, it is trying to find it in the answers they provided (you have a choice of 4), and ignoring all the extra rubbish they add to distract you. Study, study study and practice practice practice is the answer.
Even with all this extra work, I am so happy we now live in Canada, the strugle is worth it.
Good luck to everyone

Hi friends,
today I have received a mail from CNO, mentioning that I am eligible to write CRNE ,applied a year ago though . but unfortunately my immigration process still taking long time which I have apllied in March 2010. I hope God will help me to receive medical request very soon. If any one you have any material for CRNE preparation , kindly send to me and also please let me know which book to refer.

Thank you,
Jaash

Dear Jaash,
Congratulation for recieving your eligibility.I am in the same boat.I didnt recieve the medicals yet but I attend in February exam and waiting for results.Based on my experience the best material is reviewing all the standards and guidelines of nursing practice which are available in CNO site.Read it by heart, maybe more than 75% of the questions were related to this section. For review ,the best guideline is CRNE Mosby review. It is a wonderful book and will review all the systems from med-surg..... pedia,,,,,,,
Good luck

Hi All,

I just received our passports stamped with the Canadian PR by god's grace on 26th march 2012.

I applied to CARNA for eligibility but they asked me to take an SEC even though I have a Master's qualification...

I just wanted to know whether there are any start up jobs in nursing In Calgary which do not require a license??

Is SEC mandatory for writing CRNE??

Regards...
